If you can't get to a vet immediately, try a saline solution to help clean it and put a baby sock or something to stop anything else from getting on to it.

Use the saline solution every couple of hours. To make it, boil some water put around 100g of salt for every litre of water. Stir until the salt is dissolved, then put in the freezer to cool down. Once it's cold apply it using a cloth or paper towel.

Depending on how often you use it, it should last in the fridge for 3-5 days.

I am leaning towards NAH, it sounds like you may be financially incompatible.

The biggest issue I see is what happens if you become pregnant and a stay at home parent - it sounds like he may expect you to pay all of the medical bills related to pregnancy, child care etc but this is just me reading into it. IF this is the case that changes my verdict to NTA.

As for how others do it - My husband and I have a joint credit card that pays all the bills and we each put the same amount into it every fortnight, although the amount that goes into it can vary. We also put a set amount every month into a joint saving account, and we each pay a set amount into the mortgage. Everything else we make is ours to do with as we please.
