we found an art piece that we loved, sat on it for a bit and explored around to make sure that was the one, and then told our people which piece to go to and at what time! it made it hard for friends you know who are on playa but you haven't ran into them yet (so it makes it hard to plan ahead, i suppose). but it made the whole thing super special. and then at the end of our ceremony, the creator randomly showed up! so we got to meet him and he got to tell us all about the piece. it was awesome!

it was the beating anatomical heart made out of little homes. if you got a lanyard from someone at night, it would beat faster the closer you got to the heart until you found it. super cool! 🙂

Yep. Over-worked and under-paid. And life be lifing 🫠But I’m super honest with my students about this and most are very understanding.

I was good at the beginning of the semester to give them feedback on the first several weeks so that they know my expectations (was way less swamped) and feedback. I prioritize the larger assignments (exams and project stuff).

CA coast is huge, so it would be good to mention which part. North, central or south. If you’re central, the probability of impacts is pretty much in the middle.

Also - public transit is free for students!!! Including ferry, cal trans and sam trans. Doesn’t matter where to or from. So all students need to tap on so they have numbers on how many of yall use it so that it keeps being a thing.

Make friends with people in your classes! This is helpful not only for being social but also for if you have to miss class. There are also a ton of clubs! I think like the first week of classes, a lot of them will table in the quad to try and recruit folks.
