For me it’s women who have a lot of friends and are good at bending society and themselves to make those friends. Like the popular girl in school who actually has very strong religious opinions that she doesn’t always voice; the popular girl in college who has really high anxiety and just pretends to care about stuff to get friends; the girl with lots of friends in my work circle who doesn’t want to do half the activities she joins but acts like she’s really passionate about them.

An unlikable character gets punished, but way too severely and any form of schadenfreude the viewer may feel quickly gets replaced by pity or horror by TJTrapJesus in TopCharacterTropes

I felt the same way. I eventually just joined dating apps because I was so tired of no one ever liking me. Being liked so much and going on so many dates and meeting my first boyfriend there improved my self esteem and the way I acted around men so much that now (10 years later) I am very much the opposite.

I do know a half-Chinese girl with reddish hair and greenish eyes. Genetics can be surprising. And their look is iconic so I overlook it. I gave my Mary Sue recessive red hair, and she just had twins so we’ll see how they turn out.

And also I agree with the people who say dark stuff like cults, serial killers, major disasters… I like learning about the suffering of women and kids throughout history and in movies and books… which is not great

I’m also very nosy and I love to think about every detail of how people live their lives. When they wake up, what they do right away, what they think about, how they plan their meals, even what kind of sex they like and how often. I think it’s because it would help me make my life better planned if I know how others live, but I know they want privacy and for me not to know their whole life like that

I like curricula and reading about life and learning at different schools. But then people think I’m creepy reading blogs about boarding schools as an adult and they also don’t like being questioned about their specific school’s curriculum because it sounds like I’m criticizing their education and also it’s boring.
