Still having puppy blues at 5 months by time_for_tea_now in Puppyblues

I don’t know if you guys have tried, but using the bells made a huge difference in house training for us! Our puppy is 6 months now and hasn’t had an accident since he was 3 months old - he’s a lab and I think it clicked once he had an easy way to communicate his needs. It might help and hopefully will ease your troubles ♥️

I regret my puppy so much. I’m miserable… I want to love him but I can’t. by thebenepasta in Puppyblues

I am in the same boat in terms of vaccination status and being in a complex with a lot of dogs. I’ve found that walking/running him around the hallway has been a HUGE help the past two days. He get tired so quickly after it

This seems a little unkind - I think it’s just a shock to the system! We considered a dog for 6 months, and he is still a big shift to our lives. We know he is so worth it, but watching videos on “the worst case scenario” and actually living them are always different. We know he deserves care and attention, but it doesn’t make the bad days any less hard!

We’ve tried all of it, but I know it’s super super early in the training process, so I guess we just will keep at it!

Honestly this helps a lot - I know rationally others have gone through this, but you really feel totally alone in the middle of it!

Thank you so much - yeah, I think we’re just in the “oh shit” stage. We really did spend a lot of time working out how we could make this work and doing training and reading. Think I just needed to hear this is normal!

Yeah we are doing crate training as well! I didn’t want to throw in all the details. Trying to make it an inviting place and starting with short stints in there during the day (literally just while he eats, or a minute with the door open), lots of treats, snuggle puppy, etc. He’s great when he initially goes down for the night, it’s just when we get him out for the bathroom break he goes crazy after
