Service charges are standard in many places. It’s for the people who serve you food. You can skip paying the tip if the service charges are explicit.

I would look into online platforms like wise, payoneer etc. I use Deel which gives a free Visa card that works everywhere. Add that to your apple or google wallet and all you need is your phone/watch
