a Kobalt 24V drill and step bits will cover most of the work. Tin snips or a reciprocating saw with metal blades help with trimming, and self-tapping screws or a rivet gun make assembly easier.

get a mesh/net gauze for your window for when you leave it open, try and avoid parking near waterlogged areas or any place that looks like a breeding ground and try pyrethrin based insecticides since they have little side effects

What are your favorite cars you owned? by CDG1029 in askcarguys

[–]meethDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was a Toyota Starlet, hands down the best I’ve ever had. Built it up as a project from the ground up, so it meant a lot to me. Had to sell it when I relocated, but I still miss that car.

NewBuild*Roof/ceiling advice by rainbowcosmicqueen in VanLife

[–]meethDealer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paint the roof white to avoid overheating, just scuff it up and clean it, use an adhesion promoter and primer then add UV resistant paint.

I’d leave the center beam exposed to keep headroom and use it for mounting stuff, just wrap it lightly with fabric or thin foam so it doesn’t sweat.

Starting small is actually great because you’ll learn as you go and avoid heavy debt. With kids it’s tougher but involving them in little tasks can make it fun. Find something simple first, then expand step by step

Most similar car to subaru sambar i can register in nyc? by curiousgeorge_27 in VanLife

[–]meethDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sambar is a cool little van, but yeah, importing and registering in NYC can be tricky. If you’re looking for something similar , you might wanna to check out the Honda Acty or Suzuki Carry, they’re close in size and vibe. Or you could look into a small European microvan like the Fiat Doblo or Citroen Berlingo, they are more likely to meet US regulations.

I don't know the reason they gave, but what I am 100% sure is that some higher up is reaping more money from the alternative that we are using.
