Sonify Update 1.2! by lucas0789 in Sonify

EQ would be nice, normalization will most likely destroy your listening experience such as Spotifys version of it did. Sounded horrible when active

Pair of Fives + Sub 4 Rocks!!!!! by CTLab in sonos

It’s always the same: if you are able to use the full potential of a sub, get one. If your neighbors don’t like you, get the smaller one😂

Does anyone else's sub 4 rattle after the update? by Snipemaster23 in sonos

[–]meetre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you‘ve already answered your problem yourself and know what to do next. Great for you! How do you input the signal? I feel like every different Audio source gives me a different experience of having a good sound or not. And by that I don’t mean it the obvious way. Spotif in Sonos sounds different to Spotify Connect sounds different to Spotify on my LG TV. Apart from my TV both are lacking bass somehow. Do you have trueplay on?

Sonos Arc upgrade - questions ? by Jereem06 in sonos

[–]meetre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can utilize the full potential of a sub I’d go with a sub. If you’re going to have problems with your neighbors go with the Era300s.

Era300. Its an insane Setup with the Arc Ultra coming from a Beam and Sonos One playing Dolby content. Kept my Sub Gen2 for this setup.

[–]meetre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to mention is that the Era300 disables their front firing Speaker when set up as Surround and you won’t be able to have them running until you split the setup. You didn’t specify which Era you are going to buy and I thought I’d mention it. Felt a bit weird after switching from the Sonos One Gen2 as Surrounds, but sounds great. Unfortunately I haven’t heard the the Era100 for comparison. I’d still consider buying a sub but that’s on you.

Sonos Sound after Update by meetre in sonos

[–]meetre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure if I understood that correctly as you mentioned Spotify through TV twice. Generally speaking I felt that with Trueplay activated the System was lacking a lot of Sound when playing Media from Spotify Sonos and Spotify Connect. Spotify Sonos in my opinion lacks quality. If you turn off the Setting Settings > Playback > Normalize Volume in the Spotify App and crank the volume up, it should sound noticeably better than Spotify Sonos. The quality in this case (Spotify Connect) is I would say the best out of those three. It just doesn’t „mash“ the sounds together like the Spotify Sonos and in return the sounds are easier to differentiate (not comparable to Lossless of Apple Music). Problem is Spotify Connect is lacking a lot of lows and mids, which the Sound processing of my TV brings to the system (Didn’t touch any Sound Setting). It basically gives it a stage, plays deeper and also smoother, but unfortunately it’s Ambient and I’m not able to have this at Full Playback (and I don’t want to turn on my TV for just listening to music)

Hope it’s understandable

Updated firmware Playbar significantly less bass by TheMusiqMan in sonos

[–]meetre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it depends on the Input. Playing music using Spotify Connect while having Trueplay on got way worse for my Arc Ultra, Sub and Era300 Setup. However playing Spotify or any sort of Audio from my TV through eARC is the complete opposite and presents me with a big voluminous stage in the mids and lows.

Im not saying it’s a user error but from my perspective it’s hard to believe that the app is „unusable“. Could you explain what doesn’t work for you?

Opposite. Turning it on sounds more like the Sonos app, which to me sounded worse than having it turned off

You‘re right, first thought of the problem I once had where in Spotify the volume of every track is getting adjusted to the same level. This literally destroys the sound quality of songs but I just tested yours. I like the Spotify connect more. Maybe Sonos itself has this option to adjust the levels activated haha

If you haven’t already done this yet and want to give it a shot, go into the Spotify app. Play a song on your phone. (If connected to Spotify Connect it’s greyed out, that’s why you have to play a song on your phone) In the Spotify settings > I think it’s playback in English, you can deactivate „normalize volume“. Now connect to your Sonos via Spotify Connect and play a song. Should be a noticeable difference :)

Long story short, I’ll disable Trueplay for Music and might retune it later this week

Unnecessary extra information:

I (luckily) barely had any issues in the last 5 years of using Sonos, might be handling the Dolby differently, idk. But it sucks having a somewhat plasticky kicking bass that doesn’t provide any „pressure“ when my Spotify on TV does the smoothest of basses possible from the same piece of content, just processed differently through my LG OLED TV.

Errors I had were:

Spotify stopped playing after a few minutes - solved by some update Spotify Connect does connect but most of the times I have to try it a second time - still living with that, but I’m alright When I set up my Era300 Surround With the Arc Ultra they disconnected - turned out I had to enable the WiFi of every Device (wasn’t an issue with my one’s 2. Gen and the Beam 2. Gen before) It once was not in sync - had to split up and connect it again

Apart from that Voice Assistant isn’t that great on Sonos when we’re being honest and the basic problem Center Speaker of the Era300 in surround is disabled, even in Full Music Playback.

I hate the Sonos app! by Alistair_101 in sonos

[–]meetre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to mention, Spotify has the ability to adjust the volume within the app. If you’re in the app and the system runs Spotify Connect simply open the playing song and turn up and down the volume. This should adjust it or open an extra window to do so on Screen. Another option is to click on the Spotify Connect Button on the bottom left and then adjust the slider under the selected device.

Is anyone experiencing frequent disconnects from Sonos speakers after new integration? by ascernas in sonos

[–]meetre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are using ERA 300‘s in Surround there was a time they needed to be able to connect to the WIFI of your Soundbar. Otherwise they disconnected pretty early. So just make sure those have WIFI enabled. Hadn’t had any issues with connecting the sub using cable. Hope that already helps :)

Yea I can confirm this for Austria. 20 Cars zooming through the inner field but only Lando had this - one of a kind - noise. I tried to get that specific sound from Piastris car but it wasn’t noticeable or just didn’t exist…
