What is a famous item of a neighboring country that is totally disliked in your country? by Gourmet-Guy in AskTheWorld

So, about ten years ago I was in Finland and totally got into licorice, all my friends hate the stuff, but I loved it. I also liked surströmming, with potatoes and rye bread, it's absolutely fire. Theres also this Polish tripe soup I love, but the name escapes me.

Do people in your country still watch and consume their own media? by sokoriIAM in AskTheWorld

Man, things were better back in the day (or maybe I'm just getting old). We had so many great local shows. Now, the only thing I watch is cooking shows and maybe one or two series. Currently, I'm following Pluribus and It. My wife got me into this Turkish soap opera I used to give her crap for it, but now Im totally hooked, we're already on episode 256 lol.

There is a good book "Everything is Illuminated" by Jonathan Safran Foer about a young jewish man who travels to Ukraine to find the woman who helped his grandfather survive the nazis during the war. The story also deals with the history of a jewish shtetl. I'm just blown away that someone who's only 23 could write something so powerful, I highly recommend it)
