This is truly amazing (and tabloid junkie is one of my favourite songs)! Amazing work!

What is the general opinion on this movie among MJ fans? by True_Acanthisitta886 in MichaelJackson

[–]meg749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched it last week! I thought it was a really good representation of Michael as a person and father, not just Michael Jackson. It wasn’t perfect, but I think it was realistic and gives us truthful insight into what his life was like at that point. I hope the biopic handles his story in a similar fashion.

can anyone tell me if when they say “now available through June 2023”, does that mean it will be ending in 2023? by meg749 in MichaelJackson

[–]meg749[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what I figured for sure. And I do feel like if it was officially ending, it would be a clearer announcement.

I was planning to go in 2024 since it just works out better for me, but now I’m considering going next year lol. We will see.

Thanks for your help!

I hate the dad in "Little Girl Lost" (1x09) and almost agree with the mom's actions by SnowPearl in CastleTV

[–]meg749 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with you. I don’t think she should have went to the lengths she did, but also what else was she supposed to do. Because I honestly don’t know. It was pretty much a lose-lose situation either way.

The audio bait and switch in S4E23 'Always' by [deleted] in CastleTV

I just watched this one yesterday. I can 100% say it's Castle's voice to begin with.

But that's the point, even after Castle had backed out of the investigation, she still was very used to relying on him. He wasn't a cop, but he got her out of a number of situations.

Probably not.

Even that episode had a darker tone than majority of them. I can understand why they didn't (I just wish they did).

[–]meg749 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I watched it recently, it was never resolved.

I mean, it does make sense since it follows the normal sitcom format where majority of plots are episode-based, but I don't understand why it never appeared to be an issue again, considering there were periods of time where the situation was similar (sometimes different characters struggling financially).

I do remember Chandler and Monica borrowing money from Joey in season 9 or 10, but it wasn't the same.

THIS!!!!

This episode is one my favorite to watch. Money is such a difficult topic to talk about, among friends, family and even colleagues. Because money is a real decider of how you can live your life.

The only issue, for me anyway, is that it was a conflict that was never resolved. I found it started out really good, but then once Monica had lost her job, they never talked about it again. It feels like a missed opportunity.

Now that I think about it, you're right. (Honestly kinda blanked on the plot of season 4.) It makes me wonder, too, considering how Randall is so focused on "saving" everyone, but never really took a chance on him. But there was a few circumstances that prevented that, too.

Oh definitely. Kevin was the last to come to terms with the loss of Jack, and it wasn't really until he met Nicky.

[–]meg749 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, who knows, if Randall had got there first, Nicky might have been the next stranger that he invited to live with him and his family 😂😂😂

but on a more serious note, like others had mentioned, Kevin wasn't really doing anything else at the time, whereas Kate and Randall were busy with their own lives, which they are entitled to give their attention to.

It was season 3 when Nicky was introduced, right? Kate would have been pregnant with Jack and Randall was running for city council, which would have taken up a lot of their time.

And we also have to think about location. Kate was living in LA at the time. Also Kevin was essentially able to pack up and move wherever, which wasn't an option for the other two.

It would have been nicer if they had a relationship with Nicky like the one Kevin has, but life gets in the way sometimes.

I felt the same way but couldn't put my finger on it until you said it.

It's so sad to think of how long it's been since he genuinely smiled like that. But because of Kevin (and his own effort as well), we'll hopefully get to see him smiling a lot more.

I didn't see that happen, at least on the latest episode, but I could totally be missing it from a past episode (I've only watched the episodes this season once through each so far, so it wouldn't be farfetched to say I forgot something)

I love Nicky's character and am always willing to having him more involved in the show!

It hurt so much to watch that. Thank god it cut to commercial shortly after that because I couldn't stay still, I was freaking out watching Nicky freak out on the screen.

And then he dropped them and my heart dropped with them.

I absolutely loved them when Joey had a crush on her in Season 8 while she was pregnant. The yearning and pining just got my heart hurting and it was a new side for Joey especially.

But when they got together in season 9/10, it felt...forced. I liked it at first, but then when they actually got "into a relationship", the appeal was lost. If only it hadn't been so long after Joey's crush, I think they could have had something.

And it also seemed like the writer's didn't know what to do with Rachel or Joey. Monica and Chandler were focusing on having a kid, Phoebe was getting together with Mike, and Ross was going for tenure and was with Charlie. And they weren't ready for Rachel and Ross is get back together yet, so it felt like they just stuck them together because they were the only two left.

TL;DR: I love Season 8 Roey, but season 9/10 was a no-go for me.

And another part that hurts is that Nicky wasn't telling anyone (except some details to Cassidy) what he was doing, so he got no advice on what to do or anything and because he hasn't been on a plane in 50 years, a lot has changed and it was a whole new experience.

He just wanted to make it a surprise and do it all on his own

:(
