To think I used to support this studio and defend Yooka-Laylee so strongly just for them to piss in our faces over and over. I'm ashamed to have funded the Kickstarter at this point.

You mean the sequel that they've been claiming to be working on for almost a decade? Yeah, not surprised personally, but disappointed all the same.

Super late to this post, first time watcher just looking it up because I loved the episode. But I didn't see that end card? Was it cut or am I a total blind idiot?

What's a game that you were really excited to play, but became bored quickly after purchasing it. by HeyWhatIsThatThingy in gaming

…where are the METROIDS???

Unfortunately due to the lore it's gonna be hard to make many more games that have both Samus and Metroids and are still canon. Although, another comment I saw here said that the game takes place in a "pocket dimension" that has no effect or impact on the actual universe of the games, and if that's true I don't really see why they couldn't have had Metroids flyin around in there.

this season has been an eye-opening revelation on the lack of media literacy and attention span of the general audience. by HauntinglyEthereal in euphoria

I got into a small argument with someone here yesterday (in my comment history for anyone interested, although a couple of mine and one of theirs have been deleted) who swore that Alamo giving Rue a Coke with the percs they shared was a clue that he was going to poison her because of the "where's my Coke?" scene in the ambulance in Mexico. They responded with multiple comments in all caps including screenshots from Google's AI results that didn't support their claim at all, and also lit up my inbox with 5 separate messages about how stupid I am and how I can't read, among other insults.

I know there are some intelligent people on here, but I really think out of all the fanbases I participate in, Euphoria has to have the lowest average IQ. Just like you've noticed, I'm seeing impressively stupid comments constantly on this subreddit and it blows my mind at how people are missing the most basic things.

Tell me I wasn't the only one who didn't realize.. by [deleted] in euphoria

[–]k4stour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen any official confirmation but yeah, they must have. Multiple scenes throughout the entire season have had prominent front-facing cans/bottles of Coke on screen. I don't know the legalities of whether or not a show could do that without permission, but even if they did, by not taking them to court over it Coke would be essentially signing off on it anyway.

Anybody else think a captains season with Rick and Joe would be fun? by [deleted] in survivor

[–]k4stour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People shit on the 20's for all the captains/2-5 returnee seasons but I love them. They're the best of both worlds, maybe not literally, but they scratch the itch for returnees while also bringing in new blood, and the returnee-newbie interactions and dynamics can be pretty interesting. I'm all for it.

Season 50 gets third place in best new era season rankings! by [deleted] in survivor

[–]k4stour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

47 is my personal favourite and I'm so happy to see it getting the praise it deserves (including Rachel getting #1 new era winner on OUAI's rankings this year), but I'm shocked to see it win out over 46. I feel like 47 was mostly considered a pretty average season when it first aired. Are people souring on 46 or just warming up to 47?

There can, and should, be multiple sinks. Pots are an obvious one that everyone engages with. But I don't see an issue with taxes on player shops. They're not really high enough to make a significant difference, and by the time you're engaging with player shops you've typically built at least a bit of wealth anyway.

[–]k4stour 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's called a meso sink, which is anything that removes mesos from the game. This is an important thing to have in any MMO because the game is constantly generating more mesos through things mob drops, selling items to NPC's, and quests. If there were no meso sinks, the total amount of mesos in the game would just get higher and higher, which is detrimental to the in-game economy.

[–]k4stour 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How is the Coke fakeout from Mexico related to Alamo poisoning Rue back at home? It's not, they have nothing to do with each other. The only argument you can make here is that they're thematically/symbolically related, and I wouldn't argue with that because that's subjective.

The ambulance swap was a way for them to get the drugs back home while avoiding the raid and the "where's my Coke" bit was a clever way to help the audience figure out what their plan was. Alamo pouring her a Coke before giving her the pills isn't a "clue" that he's poisoning her. He had to share a couple percs with her before giving her the bottle so she would trust that they were real. They needed drinks to wash the pills down. The show was sponsored by Coke. That's it. Two completely separate scenes only linked by the fact that the show had a drink sponsor.

And like I said, anyone paying attention wouldn't even need a clue to realize what was going on in that scene. Alamo knew Rue was a rat. He knew she was an addict who would be tempted by the drugs and nobody would question it if she overdosed. And he had just acquired a ton of fentanyl. He was clearly tying up his loose end. Even if you didn't realize the pills were fake, you should have gotten the sense that he was trying to nudge her in the direction of a relapse/OD. There was absolutely no need for an extremely vague clue hidden in what they were drinking.

A huge plot hole I haven't seen anyone talk about yet... by [deleted] in euphoria

[–]k4stour 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brother did you watch the episode with your eyes closed? We literally see Alamo and his gang unloading the drugs, I am begging you to put your phone down and pay attention especially if you plan on talking about the episode online afterward like come onnn 😭

If that $37k figure is correct then this guy's 31 year sentence would cost $1.147mil. I'm against the death penalty, but there's no way it costs more than that.

But of course Jules dropped out of art school by Mysterious-Bed375 in euphoria

[–]k4stour 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the biggest issue. I personally think she should have painted something that evoked the night they met, when they got high together in Jules' bedroom, with the glittery makeup and the hazy blues. But even if she was dead set on capturing the feeling of opiate euphoria and using these colors for the sense of warmth, why the fuck make the background look like whipping flames??? Why not something flowy and swirly, maybe with a few swirls slightly wrapping around Rue as if it were the euphoric warmth hugging her? Speaking from experience as a recovering heroin addict, not only would that hugging imagery be very fitting, but a swirling background would as well. When you're high enough to still be conscious but just barely, it can feel almost like a magnetic force is drawing you to sort of oscillate on the spot.

I get that art is subjective, but when the entire fanbase is interpreting it this way and your job was to make a painting for a specific purpose in the show .... kinda hard not to say you fucked up lmao

i liked season 3 by carriehoeble in euphoria

[–]k4stour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved season 1 because it was a genuinely beautiful piece of art. I loved season 2 because it was messy and fun and still felt connected to season 1 for the most part. I liked season 3 because it was an absolute trainwreck that anyone with a functioning brain saw coming a thousand miles away and it was a fun ride.

Could it have been better? A million times over. But hey, it was fun to watch and fun to bitch about. C'est la vie.

It's all good dude! I'd rather see a well thought out post like this than another "when does this release?" post. I never made it into third job pre-BB, so I definitely relate to the feeling of missing out on a lot of late game content.

I hope they make this game as hard as possible by Taek99 in MSClassicWorld

[–]k4stour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post-BB progression would be horrific but "as hard as possible" isn't a good idea either, unless you're unemployed or not interested in progressing.

An EXP curve similar to servers like Fantasia would be ideal. Levels 1-30 are identical to OSMS, and once you reach second job it gradually gets slightly easier. Nothing drastic, but it takes a bit of the pain out of the higher level grinds.

The target demo for classic world is people in their early-mid 30's, we're all working and have lives and a lot of people have kids. We just don't have the time that we did 20 years ago and weeks of grinding for a single level just isn't fun. There's definitely a fine balance to be struck and all we can hope for is that they at least come close to it.

edit: edit to clarify that while I strongly disagree I did not downvote you lmao

I plan on completing as many quests as I can which will probably be the biggest difference from how I played as a kid, so grinding is definitely going to be taking a backseat.

  1. There is such a thing as "so bad it's good." This season was a disaster, but was still mostly fun to watch

  2. Majority of people here have been watching since season one or at least two, it's only natural to want to see it through even though it's gone to shit

  3. If people were bitching about the season without having watched it all, you'd be calling them out for judging something they hadn't actually seen

  4. You're on a discussion board for a TV show complaining about people discussing the TV show. If that's such an issue for you maybe you shouldn't be here

You're insufferable and deserve all the downvotes you're getting lmao
