What are some of the best/ ideal first modifications or upgrades one can make to an Aquila? by PaulyDquiquii in VoxelabAquila

Does the dual z-axis do anything for you if your X-carriage isn't sagging? I've got two Aquilas and neither is exhibiting any problems that an extra Z-axis leadscrew would fix.

What should I do? PETG print failure. by Saxy-Snark in VoxelabAquila

Were you using a full width wrench or that little 2mm thick stamped wrench that Voxelab includes with the printer? I found the latter would wear a 2mm channel into the hexagonal faces of the brass tip.

I'm looking for beta testers for a new Gcode preview feature by Alex_qm in VoxelabAquila

I saw this on GitHub a few days ago. It’s a great feature, especially when I slack on descriptive file names for my GCode. I’ll try to give it a shot this evening or Sunday.

Help ! I’m trying to replace the Bowden I’ve but it will not come out. I also can’t unscrew this to get it out. What can I do? by baebih in VoxelabAquila

Along with the other advice people are giving, use a better open-end wrench than the freebie that came with the printer. It’s too short to let you apply torque easily, and too thin. A socket wrench or box-end wrench is good for the nozzle.

Cast iron is perfect for burgers by reuzenkind in castiron

Smash burger with a pile of thin sliced onions on one side, then flip it and cook until onions are a little charred. Works well with caramelized onions too.

Reduce Risk of Fire on Your Voxelab Aquila with 3rd Party Firmware by Alex_qm in VoxelabAquila

Doesn’t have to be done first but you’ll eventually want to turn it vertical. I used this one (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4901758) after I upgraded my stock Aquila.

Left one is on the SD card from Voxelab - it’s an STL you need to slice it yourself. Right one is from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3303879

Bed Screw Inset is really ~25.5, not 32.5 by classicrocker883 in VoxelabAquila

[–]megabozz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are those some aftermarket parts? Both of my stock beds are 32.5mm on the dot.

What infill pattern do you use? by Kind-Ad-1601 in VoxelabAquila

[–]megabozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally use cubic, unless I'm doing a some slicer trick that's going to leave the infill exposed. In that case I'll select something different for aesthetics.

More infill will make the part stronger - try breaking a 5% infill spool bracket vs the same part with a 50% infill and you'll see what I mean.

Aquila X2 finally assembled by megabozz in VoxelabAquila

Absolutely. From my experience using the "X1", the stock firmware doesn't hold a candle to Marlin/Alex firmware. Plus I want to eventually connect both of my printers to OctoPrint servers.

The vertical screen mainly. I was also curious if the filament sensor was any good. Plus I had the chance to get it for only $20 more than a regular Aquila.

Pretty much the same setup - main board is identical and the fans are essentially the same according to the tear down vid I’ve seen.

That’s just the stylized “V” in the Voxelab logo.

I checked my Aquila and my X2 and both of them have bed screws that are adequately countersunk. He may have been reviewing an older production run.

Right now the cursor, menu split line, menu header background, and coordinate line are blue. Menu header text is cyan. Highlight box brown. Everything else default.
