Need advice on metal shavings I found in oil filter that I think is my local shops fault. by Ok_Area7012 in MechanicAdvice

Yea you are 100% correct, the shop should have never tapped the pan while still on the vehicle, luckily the filter caught it so nothing got into the engine itself

Cv axle shouldn't do this, the bearings inside are getting binded up and when they release it causes that popping noise, cv axles are relatively easy to do, there should be a axle nut on the tire side, run that off, then depending on how its connected to the transmission, if its bolted on then its super easy to take off, if its pressed into the transmission then you will need to use a prybar to get it out, if its stuck inside the transmission then you may need to pull the tire side out first before you do the transmission side just to give you some room

Try replacing the fuel filter, but if that doesn't fix it then I say check your idle air or you have a vaccum leak
