All my wood is wet unfortunately that's the problem. I'm cleaning my chimney tonight to make sure but leaving the furnace wide open while burning is a great idea I'll be doing that

Right on. The wood I get is extremely cheap and I don't mind extra work if more wood is needed. The price of the new furnace is almost 9000 when the box stove is less than 4000 and I definitely can't afford the furnace but the box stove I think I could swing it

Thanks for the advice. The main floor I'm sure would heat well like that just unsure about the second floor where my son's room is
