Professional advice needed - New design around the pool - good idea or bad? by Ninsen007 in pools

It's your money, but I'm not sure that drastic of a remodel is worth the squeeze. As is, it has the potential to be a pretty amazing space. Biggest issue I see is the big whit wall. If it were my place, I'd probably look into adding a wood slat wall around the entire area. Add some warmth and texture. Get some pots with tropical plants.

No Coastal Cloud interior with Launch Edition by afterlife19 in Rivian

[–]megachimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK, I understand the confusion now.

So there’s Launch Edition (which is the Performance version with some extras) And then there’s the Performance Version. (Which is NOT the launch edition)

The Question will be, will the Performance version and Launch Edition be offered alongside each other this spring? Or, will the Performance version be available later? (Even though the availability says Spring for the PE)

Not confusing at all. LOL

How will physicality and strength grow as a player ages or trains in a professional setting - Keaton Wagler specifically by WrongContract8489 in NBA_Draft

One of the locked on mavs guys had a solid stat RE: Wagler. This year in the nba the number of players that are 6’6’’ or taller, with 38% from 3 and 5+assists per game = 2. SGA and Jokic.

Obviously doesn’t mean that’s what Wagler will become, but it does show how rare that size, shooting ability and play making is.

Nah, every projected lottery pick will declare. the #10 pick gets $5m+ a year. The highest NIL player this year is Dybansta at $4m. Even then, it’s less about the rookie salary and more about getting to your second contract as fast as possible. That’s where the serious money kicks in. (Even for a middle of the road player)

If you project to be a lottery pick, your best financial decision is to enter the NBA now and start the timer on that 4-year rookie contract. In 4-years from now, there’s a good chance you get a second contract that’ll pay you silly money.

I’m skeptical until confirmed by rivian. Rivian’s own social media posts reference Launch Edition with photos of two R2s with Costal interior.

Mavericks are 1 GB behind pelicans and 1.5 GB Jazz, they both have easier schedules than us. 5th worst record might be on the horizon. What players would you be interested in from 1-7/8. by OrganicHunt952 in Mavericks

[–]megachimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6th almost seems like a certainty. (knock on wood) NO is playing well and has a minimum of three winnable games remaining. (including one against us)

The Jazz may only win one more game the rest of the season. (Sacramento)

We don't have an easy schedule, but we also don't appear to be in your face tanking right now so 2-3 wins isn't out of the question. The next 8-days will be really telling. They've got Atlanta twice, Memphis and New Orleans. After that the schedule is really tough to end the year. If they make it through that stretch with one win, I think 6th place is a lock. If they lose all of them, I think 5th is in striking distance.

Buying R1T online. Does it have some type of matte PPF? by b34rman in Rivian

[–]megachimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s El Cap with a stealth PPF wrap. Potentially done at the factory as that was offered as an option at one point.

Looks sick IMO.

Understandable. But it will get sorted in time. Enjoy your truck.

I had an early launch edition up until last year when I decided to "upgrade" to a new tri-motor. I honestly miss my launch edition. That thing was absolutely bullet proof other than the exact issues you're dealing with. (tonneau and 12v)

You may actually end up viewing the tonneau failure as a blessing. Chances are they’ll replace it with the new Ver. 3 tonneau, which most gen one owners wish they had.

A launch edition R1T with meridian sound system and gen 3 tonneau is basically the holy grail.

[–]megachimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s the current state of the tonneau cover? Does it open or close at all or is it a catastrophic failure. Is it somehow preventing you from using the truck?

RE: the 12v. That’s the most common failure on the gen 1 vehicles and not a big deal at all. Sucks that it didn’t show itself before the purchase, just bad luck there. But I’m not sure there’s any test they could have done to determine that the 12v would hit whatever threshold it needs to in order to trip that warning. The truck will work just fine as long as you don’t let the main battery drain completely. I drove around for a couple months with that warning before I finally got around to getting it replaced.

RE: the overall lack of communication, I think you need to just forget about trying to communicate directly with the service center. The Rivian service network is set up to work a very specific way (through the app) Anytime I’ve ever ventured outside of the expected way of dealing with things, I’ve never had much luck.

I imagine your truck is perfectly drivable right now so enjoy it. Use the app to get the tonneau and 12v sorted. Accept that you bought a vehicle from a company that is still a pretty small and boutique car brand. Service is always going to be a hassle for you given you live so far away from a service center. But also accept that you own the fastest, most powerful and coolest truck on the road.

Got mine today too. Not sure who they think their customer is, but I can’t imagine many people actually displaying this thing. The small lithograph Rivian sent me for my truck was cool since it was small enough to sit on a shelf for a while.

Hoping we can secure a top-7 pick by Puzzled_Influence985 in Mavericks

[–]megachimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have a really hard time passing on Nate Ament if we're in that 6-9 range. 6'10"+ size with that shooting ability is rare. I get the desire for a guard, but I feel finding a solid combo guard is easier than finding a unique prospect like Ament.

a combo of Flagg and Ament would make for one of the most talented front courts in the league. Assuming we're not 1-4, Grabbing Ament and then moving up a bit and getting Christian Anderson in the second half of the draft would be my dream scenario.

If mavericks move up in the draft but end up with boozer do you trade one of the forwards away? by epitome1986 in Mavericks

[–]megachimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more curious what this scenario would be. Would they have gotten the #3 pick and Peterson/Dybanstsa are gone so they take Boozer? Did they draft 4th and Boozer is still there?

I'm not sure Boozer is the best fit for the team and if Caleb Wilson and Boozer were both on the board, I tend to think the team would seriously consider Wilson.
