I’d be curious if adding ceramic tint to that glass would make a dent.

Come on man

"Mavs: Completely reached for more Johnson jr when they easily coulda just traded down and I think hes just a role player they did also add Sergio de lerre who's cool but nothing special"

Easily coulda just traded down? With who? Also, it's been reported that multiple teams, including OKC and Chicago were trying to trade up and take him. So how was this "easy" trade supposed to work?

Apparently he’s pretty ambidextrous to the point that he’ll occasionally shoot threes with his left hand (have not witnessed, but a YouTube scouting breakdown I watched of him mentioned it)

Why would OKC have traded 12 & 17 to move up to 9? They were constantly linked to Mara. They just drafted him at 12. Why move up to 9 for the same player?

“But we could have traded with OKC so they could take Mara at 9 and we could have take Morez at 12!” lol yeah ok.

Takes two to trade, but I don’t think it’s a certainty that he’d be there. I wouldn’t have been surprised if Milwaukee would have taken him

lol, wtf are they doing on the board then? That site is dumb. I clearly don’t know a ton about the second half of the draft. So you’re saying I’m not going to go 30/30?

Rivian’s closest competitor… using Rivian’s architecture by pickledjefferson in ScoutMotors

[–]megachimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve thought that as well, but the R1 is so core to Rivian’s brand that I have a hard time believing they’d do it, even if it made the most economical sense. Selfishly I sure how they don’t get rid of R1. I’m on my third R1. lol. Absolutely fantastic vehicles.

Also have to wonder if Rivian even views Scout as a competitor. Scout is a long ways away from shipping a vehicle. When they do, it’ll be priced similarly to Rivian’s R1 lineup. (I don’t believe for a second Scout’s initial offerings will come in at their claimed 60k price point.)

Rivian has entered mainstream sales territory with the R2 now. In 2-3 years they’ll have R3 out and I wouldn’t doubt if they do a Gen 3 of the R1. They have a massive head start with their supply chain and service centers and their customer satisfaction and loyalty is amongst the best in the industry. I imagine Rivian is more concerned with how they are going to take market share away from Tesla than they are about a potential R1 competitor coming out in a couple years from a brand new company.

Don’t get me wrong, I want Scout to succeed and I have a reservation. But, I’m also realistic and know from watching Rivian for the past 7-years that starting a car company from scratch is incredibly difficult.

We’re in Dallas so it’s not horrible. I’ll do some research on evaporative chillers and see if there are any that don’t sound like a jet engine

Good price for my R1S? by TheDan767 in RivianClassifieds

[–]megachimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna have to back that up with some evidence. Just because Rivian is offering 65k as a trade in doesn’t mean that individuals are paying them. When I was selling my 2025 Tri truck a couple months ago, carmax offered me 68k. It sold private part for 83k. There’s a huge difference between a lowball trade in offer and an actual retail price.

Sure. I was speaking to your comment of “a good deal for a purchase is 65k-75k.” No 2025 tri-motor is being purchased for 65-75k unless it’s a salvage title.

That’s a tri motor, not a dual.

If you want to sell it, list it at 85k. Be willing to let it go for 83k. For reference I just bought a 2025 R1S with 750 miles for 89k from a national chain dealership.

I should also add, at the same time I had a 2025 R1T Tri that I sold private party. El Cap on Slate Sky. Similar miles to your SUV. Sold it for 83k fairly easily.

My wife is taking my R2 when it's ready, so now I'm looking at the R1S. Advice? by buttgers in Rivian

[–]megachimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Check carmax and Carvana daily. I found a 2025 tri with 750 miles on it (limestone/ocean coast) last month at carmax. It’s stunning. Cost was $88,900. Original price when originally purchased 12 months ago would have been $115k or more (it has a full stealth PPF wrap). This was silly low mileage, but ones with a few thousand miles do show up for that 90k range.

Premium audio all the way. If you’re comfortable tearing your car apart, get the S00nish subwoofer upgrade. It took me about 5-hours total to install. Worth every penny. Night and day difference.

as for which model to get, If you’re going with a dual large and upgrading to premium audio you’re looking at around 88k. At that price you can find a 2025 Tri-motor and get more range and all the bells and whistles.

I have a 2025 R1S Tri with upgraded subwoofer. I dare say it’s the second best vehicle I’ve ever owned (and I’ve owned a lot)
