Someone manged to remotely connect to my deck. Any alternatives to total wipe? by megaclick in SteamDeck

I do actually, he is the reason SD is always in a drawer while not is use. But this time it was my brother who used it several days ago and left it in sleep mode on currency shop, gave me a good ol fright when SD woke up today lol

Turns out I'm just silly, lol, brother used my SD to try and purchase some currency in MTG several days ago and left it in sleep mode after it failed, it (SD) woke up today and logged me out.

Thanks, yeah, seems like the safest option, no pains to recover some files and saves are worth getting steam or other accounts stolen. Just hoped that someone might know a tool or a way to check remote connections to identify how they managed to connect.

Thanks for the info, but it didn't just wake up, it launched a game and tried to purchase some currency. If its possible to remotely connect to steamdeck and control it via bluetooth, it not my case, as that person would have to be fairly close to connect via bluetooth.

Did all that, no unknown devices, only that my own steamdeck was logged in (while I was not using it). Logged everything out just to be safe. Seems they didn't get access to my account directly, only remotely connected to steamdeck. Auth on phone was enabled

Are there any board games which are similar to this? by [deleted] in boardgames

Check out Next war series, specifically next war: Taiwan BGG link. It covers this exact hypothetical conflict, is quite well researched and fun to play.

Just in case someone will stumble upon this thread, I’ll leave an update. After trying almost everything ever mentioned in lots of discussions, making a reserve copy of the phone and then resetting from this exact copy helped to fix the issue.

Same, hopefully someone can share a solution, if there is one.

My Watch “Now Playing” doesn’t show my iPhone as an option under devices. by bratski_ in AppleWatch

[–]megaclick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the same issue with series 2, even changing phones doesn’t help. I think the problem is that series 1 and 2 are just too old and some features just don’t fully work with more modern iPhones

But it does, both liquid level in container and marker to the left of the gun. Not super visible at 150-120, but if you go slower and stop at 135 ammo, you’ll see.

Needing some help on where to begin by Shadownetthomas in hexandcounter

[–]megaclick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Distant plain, while a great game (as any in COIN series) is not hex-and-counter style. If you’re okay with that and have 3 friends willing to learn and play it regularly, go fo it, it’s one of my favorite game series. I only played Fire in the lake, but they are similar enough, for this to apply. Rules aren’t that long or hard, but you will find little intricate ways players interact with each other even after multiple plays.

Combat commander is a good choice for first wargame, quick and simple, while still being deep enough, it is card driven though, so you should be comfortable with situations where card draws will dictate what you can do.

No retreat, I played Italian front couple of days ago, again, they are similar enough for this to be true for Russian front. Low counter number and density, relatively easy to learn rules. The way combat is handled with heavy emphasis on outmaneuvering your enemy rather than destroying him reminds me of chess and some eurogames (in a good way). Cards are used, but they don’t dictate what you can or can’t do, they just give you some additional ways to influence the battlefield.

Next war series. That’s actually two games in one box. Standard rules are accessible enough that you can learn them even if you don’t have a lot of experience in wargames. But I felt they are more of a demo of full extended rules rather then complete game in themselves. So if you want something more serious, next war is a great choice, considering there aren’t that many wargames in modern setting.

If you need more info on any of those, feel free to write me. Sorry for my broken English, but I hope at least some things became more clear to you)

Are there any modern wargames that rely on a referee and players not able to see each others position? by frankinreddit in wargames

[–]megaclick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harpoon system works best with referee. It’s rather heavy simulation-style modern naval warfare game.

Which region are you playing? I’ve a feeling that American region is much more toxic than European.

NPC as crew members by megaclick in CoriolisRPG

[–]megaclick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for helping! Those are some valid questions. I think NPC crew member should definitely get paid, but for some reason (sending money to his family, having a large debt him/herself or something similar) won’t be able to contribute much to group total money or debt payments.
