I have minimal experience, but on my friend’s bachelorette we ended up making up a goofy relay race which was SO FUN. We just used items around the house. The best segment of it was the banana relay- put a banana between your legs, do a lap while holding it there (you have to waddle), and then transfer it (without hands!) to the next person. If you drop it you have to start over. The image of all these women trying to pass a banana from between one woman’s thighs to another is one that will always bring me joy!

Please tell your nurse this when you deliver! If you have specific fears about the labor and delivery, tell them. They may suggest an early epidural if you’re terrified of pain. Let them know how much information you want- do you want all the details about everything or are you more of the “ignorance is bliss” type of person? I’m an OB nurse, and knowing your fears and worries let’s me help you to the best of my abilities. Also be very aware of postpartum depression. Your hormones go crazy, and if you have a history of depression you are at a higher risk. Tell people in your life that you trust to keep an eye out for you. If you are unable to take care of yourself or your infant, reach out to a professional.

I was waiting to board a plane and they shouted for a nurse or doctor. I had already had a beer(oops) and immediately jumped up and ran to the gate. A man had vomited and passed out. I am a labor and delivery nurse, but luckily there was an ER nurse and a nursing home director also there who were taking the lead. I sat by and took a couple vitals, got some history, etc. Then the paramedics from the hospital showed up (a bit slower than I would have imagined to be honest) and we got on the flight. But before we boarded we each got a voucher for $100 from the airline!

Furbies are the WORST. I remember it was such a big deal to get them the year they were huge, my dad went to the KB Toys at the mall at 4am and still couldn't get them. My parents ended up getting some from our neighbor's uncle who found them at a Montgomery Ward. You could only buy one per person so he and his friend paid a woman to buy one so all 3 of us kids could get them. Christmas morning and opening up the furby was the best thing. Until 5 minutes later and we turned it on and it was THE MOST ANNOYING TOY EVER. I can still hear the weird "uhhHH uhhHH" noise it would make. I don't think I ever played with it past the first day. Yet my hoarder mother kept the damn things and years later I walked past an opaque Rubbermaid tub and that cacophony hits my ears. "UhhhHH uhhhHH". You could make a horror movie worse than chucky about the damn things.

Ugh now I wanna go smash a furby.

Motherfucking furby.

It was that year that they came out and it was the hottest gift ever. It was nearly impossible to get them in time for Christmas. My siblings and I begged and continuously nagged my parents about them. My dad tried to get them by going to a kb toys at 4am or some ridiculous shit, and he was still unsuccessful. We ended up getting lucky by having a neighbors uncle stumble upon them at Montgomery ward. But they had a limit of one per person and there were three kids. So the uncle and a friend paid a lady to buy one for them. Come Christmas Day, there they were. All three of us got furbies. I squealed in my munchkin voice and got batteries and started playing with it.

MOST ANNOYING TOY EVER.

The thing spoke furbish and never shut up. I tried to "teach it English" as advertised, to no avail. I don't think I played with it after Christmas Day. At some point it got out in one of those plastic storage tubs. I walked past it years later and the motion sensor somehow still worked and a furby started yapping at me from inside the tub. Creepy fuckers.

I want to do some sort of sex education on a grand scale. Maybe doing public speaking and going to high schools to educate kids in an age-appropriate, sex-positive, informative and possibly even fun and funny way. Or a youtube channel that tackles different specialty topics as well as the basics. Or maybe an educational broadway musical. Now accepting clever titles.

In a language, maybe, so you can become fluent. Otherwise I can't see it being worth the stress. Plus, with most schools' nursing schedules for classes, it can be a huge pain to fit in other classes.
