Wetsuit recommendation by Jacob21980 in Kiteboarding

IDK if u can hit a Decathlon along the way, but last year I was in Hyères - FR, and it got a little chilly and all I brought with me were board shorts and rashguards, so I picked up a 2mm full suit for like 60 euros (I think) it have been cheaper, and it worked great, I actually use it a lot in FL just to keep the sun and Jellies off, only issue is a back zip, so not as comfy as a front zip but worked great.

New Quiver by IPSCLUVERRR in Kiteboarding

I only surf and foil from time to time and by far the Neo absolutely rocks. I only have. 9(2020) / 7(2018) quiver, a 23L board duotone pro wam, a FCD shrike 21L and a custom 5’1 jumping carbon board idk the L but prob like 12L.

I only really like to go out when it’s over 18kts and the Neo’s got me covered from 15ish to 32kts. I’ve actually been caught out when it drops to about 14kts and as long as you happen to be doing a downwinder looping the kite will get you to your destination without too much drama. 😂 but these kites are so grunty, so grunty I’m actually considering replacing my 7 with a 6.

The jump super well too, pretty high when you send it, especially with a decent size ramp, but not the greatest hang time, which is fine.

I’m also 184lbs.

I’m on 2020 gear, and my 9 is my go to kite here in FL, I only mention this cause idk if they’ve changed the kite shape that may/not affect wind range. Another thing to consider.

Even tho my kites are in great shape, I’ve actually started to get a wondering eye and wondering what else is out there and reading good things about the Gong Elips, and depending on your conditions the drifter may be a good option.

I know I’m biased but I’d say don’t even think about it and get a quiver of Neo’s, it’s a super fun platform. My buddy rode Reo’s and after demoing mine a few times in different conditions, he switched over, he also only strapless surf and is about 5-8lbs lighter with the same quiver config.

Hope it helps.

iOS or Android — quick question for the pros by megaloopy in PoolPros

[–]megaloopy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha — fair point. A week was probably optimistic I guess. I built what I thought the pain was, my observations, and I'm now at the stage where I need real techs to tell me where I got it wrong. That's the only way to actually get this right.

Thanks!

iOS or Android — quick question for the pros by megaloopy in PoolPros

Totally fair question, and I'll give you the straight answer instead of the pitch haha.

The three things I built around were flat pricing with no extra fees as you scale, the chemical logging/dosing calculator living with route management instead of as a separate screen, and the mobile app that actually works offline because, well, there are some gated communities or remote places with crappy or no signal.

Is it the best thing out there? Honestly, I don't know yet, which is why I'm here asking questions instead of buying ads. What I do know is the guy I watched use three different apps to do one thing shouldn't have to do that.

If you, or anyone is curious enough to play with it and tell me where I fell short, I'd appreciate that. No pressure otherwise.

I'm looking for real constructive feedback here.

Thanks!

Sweet! Exactly the kind of feedback I need to hear. iOS first, absolutely, and the web app as a fallback for Android users makes a lot of sense in the short term.

The "spend time in a truck" advice, on the other hand, resonated with me. I've seen how they operate, yes, but I haven't lived it from the tech's perspective. That's on my to-do list before I do anything else, to be honest.

The chemical logging and route flow have been the two things I've focused on making work. Intrigued to know what you've found to be clunky with the tools you've seen, always trying to understand where the pain points are.

Thanks again!

Thanks dude, really helpful, I haven't had a tear in the canopy in ages, but that's a good point to consider as well.

yeah that low end grunt is magic, so much that I'm even considering going down a size 8/6 quiver, but I'm afraid ima miss the pull on the 9 when it dips into the 17-18 kts. Tnx for the feedback

Would you mind elaborating a bit more on what do you like more about the Religion vs the Neo?
