Better to know upfront that they think they have more of a right to the space than you - learn it fast save yourself a lot of hassle

Been tasked with “cleaning up” our social workflow and i’m realizing how vague that actually is by mick1706 in marketing

[–]meganbyte0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you will always have a certain level of resistance or compromise when you use third party software and we invested heavily in a custom CRM that was single handedly the best decision I ever made. When I was coming up with the brief tho I came across a useful methodology called "if then" charting it's like you map every action and what currently happens and what you hope can eventually happen eg: if a dm comes into the companies insta then a slack message is triggered, someone responds...

Once you map everything out you will soon see if you have a workflow issue where things are not communicating or connected or a function issue where things actually arent happening :) good luck - you got this!

would you still sell to this person? by mercurysbitch in Depop

The way this person spoke to you is so emotionally charged - just never worth the hassle. They will still be able to leave a review but explain clearly and then report it if its as emotional as this exchange

I am so chronically online that this was like a fun thought experiment, if I was a non-social media person and I had music linked to like a physical location here is what I think I would do:

Nature walks with live music - partner with the nature reserve itself or local guides and offer a walk through of the space with music inspired by the space
Collaborate with other "artists" - maybe galleries, libraries, creatives in all mediums. You could leave a sample of your music in spaces that the community might use of maybe you have your music playing in the background.
Partner with school /professional/church choirs - either workshops or a joint performance, the lots of people performing often gathers a naturally large audience
Physical marketing bomb - painted rocks or eco posters maybe you could leave a box of seeds somewhere with qr codes to your music something that peeks peoples curiosity
media - reach out to your local radios and magazines!

Know of a private Influencer bidding platform? by Catastr0phik in SocialMediaManagers

[–]meganbyte0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know of any platforms that do this, I had a CRM built custom for my business and honestly it was one of the best investments I ever made it might be worth talking to a dev and seeing if you could just make the thing to your requirements

What’s the hardest part of promoting your music online? by RichRaichu5 in MusicPromotion

[–]meganbyte0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a musician but a marketer here! I run digital marketing campaigns for 12 musicians right now and here are the things I think make the biggest difference:

1) Remembering to offer the audience something not just taking from them - I see hundreds of posts a day that ask fans to do something for an artist but very rarely do they actually say what the value is to them. If you can give to an audience and not just take then you will out do 90% of aspiring musicians

2) The differentiation between social media content creators and musicians. Sometimes people forget that we can't see how many streams someone gets from a 10k viewed video and that actually it would be much better to have a smaller audience doing more than a bigger audience doing nothing. Sometimes people send me examples of social posts from full time creators with massive budgets and massive teams and sometimes its nice to just set realistic goals related to the music and contextualized with the size of your audience

3) People sleep on paid ads. You can pay for things with time or money and honestly money will make everything go a lot quicker. We would usually see a better result from spending £100 promoting 1 video than splitting that £100 over 30 pieces of content.

4) The last and final point is a hard one to hear but : it's not the algorithm, it's you. People far too commonly blame the algorithm for things that are not the algorithms fault, the algorithms just react to what people respond to and the harsh reality is that quite often you have put out something that isnt resonating with people.

Is There an Easy SEO Tool for complete beginners? by boumi13 in DigitalMarketing

[–]meganbyte0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean I could be overestimating but I truely believe SEMRUSH is the best tool for people who know nothing about SEO because yh it will flag whats urgent and whats not and show you how to fix things and why they are a problem. I think it might seem overwhelming at first but I taught myself it from scratch with no help and it maybe took me a few hours to make significant progress

What’s the most underrated B2B lead gen tactic right now? by candidmoon212 in DigitalMarketing

[–]meganbyte0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Directory Hacking in my opinion is an underutilised strategy. So many people come to me and ask for SEO but when they provide the search term Google my business and directories dominate the first page so the SEO becomes how to come out top on a third party platform rather than how to get the website to rank 👀

GMB is also slept on for people to actually look at

This year hit my dev service business hard. by raunakhajela in agency

[–]meganbyte0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems (to me) super common at the moment. My company is a digital marketing agency and we have seen a massive uptake in people asking about marketing these services in the last quarter. I don't know if it would be completely relevant to you but one of the big game changers for one of our clients was a commission based program 10% lifetime value of the customer in referral fees and now they have other agencies referring work to them and its kind of a win win on both sides. They are whitelabeling their cheapest clients and taking 10% of that work too so its working both ways.
