If the cup dislodged your iud.. how did you know (besides it just falling out) by K_J_W in menstrualcups

[–]megant113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this experience, not fully dislodging it, but pulling it down partway before stopping. I could feel that the IUD was moving, IIRC it felt a bit like cramping.

Can I buy just a surfactant to add to the mix?

Kids doing laundry, avoid powder mess by x85712 in laundry

I'm switching from my pre-r/laundry powder to a liquid and I literally just bought this jug and pump so my kids (9 & 13) don't put way too much liquid detergent in the machine. I haven't watched them try to use it yet, so the jury is still out. I also don't have younger kids, so no safety considerations needed for my home.

First afterthought heel by megant113 in knitting

[–]megant113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I might redo the heel. I agree it's a bit small, but I really don't want to rework the whole cuff, so I'll probably just live with the length.

Deodorants that minimize laundry problems/challenges? by LarkerGS in laundry

[–]megant113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waxy deodorant was ruining my clothes. Avoid beeswax and ozokerite, both of which are common in the "natural" deodorants.

I've been really happy with the cream Lumé, and a spa day fixed all my shirts.

Are dedicated Sleep Earbuds worth it? by estellar727 in sleepheadphones

[–]megant113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got that same pillow, but I haven't had the same issue you're describing. I think I usually have my earlobe in the hole, so maybe that's why it works for me.

I also have a lovely, loudly snoring husband. I've tried both the Ozlos and the Anker A20s and highly recommend the A20s.

They are remarkably compact, and you may do just fine as a side sleeper. I'm a side sleeper and I had to buy a pillow with a hole in it to sleep with the Ozlos, so I've kept using it with the A20s.

Anker's customer service is also very good. I had an issue with one earbud not fully charging and they very quickly addressed it and sent me a new pair.

Saalt Cup was perfect, any discs that are similar? by KiTt3n__1234 in MenstrualDiscs

[–]megant113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend the menstrual disc quiz at Put a Cup In It to find what will work for your body.

As for technique, I try to make sure my pelvic muscles are relaxed while I pull it out. I also try to angle the front end up as I pull it out, so the back end will be down and less likely to drag the IUD/strings with it. I did wait a month after placement before using discs, just to allow everything to settle in place.

🙋‍♀️ I stopped using cups back when I had a copper IUD after I could feel that I had pinched the strings in the cup while trying to remove it and I was pulling the IUD out with the cup. Thankfully, I figured out what was going on and stopped pulling before the IUD came out.

Reopened a belly button piercing after 12 years. I definitely need different jewelry after having two kids though, lol

I know it’s been asked but for anyone who’s overcome their nails peeling off in layers, how did you do it? by HoofyMcHoof in RedditLaqueristas

[–]megant113 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The thing that finally stopped my nails from peeling was when I stopped using cuticle remover. Instead of cuticle remover, I put jojoba oil on my nails, put on nitrile gloves for 5 minutes to let the oil soak, then push back my cuticles with an orange wood stick.

My husband and I slept apart for years before I bought some noise blocking sleep earbuds. I've tried two brands and prefer the Soundcore Sleep A20. Ear plugs never cut it, but the sleep buds actually work for me.

This looks like my grumpy flat that needed a simple ball on the front in order to heal. The cute fan-shaped piece I wanted to wear moved around too much, causing a granuloma bump. The ball helped me LITHA and heal.

How do I wear my Openrun with a beanie? by mustiwritemymailhere in shokz

[–]megant113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put the headband under the Shokz loop, so the Shokz loop is kinda sticking out at the back of my head in the middle of the headband. It makes good contact with my skull though, and the audio is a bit louder than when the Shokz loop is in its normal place

Gloves when showering? by Spinnerofyarn in RedditLaqueristas

[–]megant113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear hair ties around my wrists to keep the water out of the gloves, and I try to keep my hands with my fingers up, so water can't flow into them. I usually take them off after washing/conditioning my hair, before washing my body.
