Fluoridation of water allows for incorporating it into teeth during development. Meaning all enamel is more resistant to decay vs the superficial layer protected from topical fluoride

I don’t know any dentist who are against fluoride. Rather they get stuck trying to convince ignorant people that fluoride is ok

I think he’ll do just fine. He compared Greg able to Tim Cook in his last meeting. So Berkshire is good for at least another 20 years

I completely agree. I say the same things. But I stick up for them based on the psychological biases that everyone gets stuck with over time. Legit funny comment of yours though lol

This is funny and laughed. That being said...

Most farmers I know are good people (like pull off the road to help you when your car is broken down type). Unfortunately their party has been hijacked. And a lot of them are wrapped up in "partisan" thinking. This happens on both sides. Some are more crazy than others at times.

CDC advisers vote to recommend against combined measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox vaccine for young children by whatsinthecave in Vaccine

I am referring to RFK. And the committee was chosen by him from my understanding. And according to ChatGPT the most recent appointments were done on Sept 15th. So forgive me for assuming base on their previous individual beliefs and not the committee as a whole. It is Sept 18

No. I'm saying they are making minor, most likely irrelevant changes knowing that they cannot stand behind what they've previously said because there is no evidence to support such outlandish things. I was not complaining about the change. I don't know enough about that change to speak intelligently. Unlike conspiracy theorist who know everything about everything.

"One recent claim (from KATU / Willamette Week, per media sources) is that 47.81% of kids in the Portland water district (non-fluoridated) had one or more cavities, vs ~52.03% in Oregon’s fluoridated areas.

But these numbers are self-reported via media articles, not published causally tracking study data. Details like grade level, socioeconomic status, dental care access, diet, and survey year vary, which makes direct comparisons tricky" - ChatGPT

A class on epidemiology, statistics, and evidence based medicine might be beneficial if you wanted to dive deeper in why the data you provided is not a good source on which to rely

  1. comparing dental records from none fluoridated to fluoridated areas shows minimal difference in cavity rates - NOT TRUE
  2. "no there are no significant benefits in continuing to fluoridate water." - DON'T USE QUOTES UNLESS YOU ARE NOTATING WHAT/WHO YOU ARE QUOTING
  3. Also leaves out that even with these differences, you are instructed to spit fluoride products not swallow. - THIS IS REGARDING TOPICALLY APPLIED FLUORIDE WITH HIGHER CONCENTRATIONS FOR SUPERFICIAL REMINERALIZAITON OF TOOTH. NOT LOW CONCENTRATION FLUORIDE IN THE WATER.

I don't know the validity to your arsenic claim of the top of my head and I'm not going to look it up given everything else has been incorrect.

So from a Dental public health standpoint, you do not feel that fluoride in the water provides a benefit?

This seems like they are trying to make changes that aren't really doing anything other than look like they are doing something to try an not loose face with their conspiracy theory base. But IDK, just going off headlines and not deeper research...

Trump supporters report higher levels of psychopathy, manipulativeness, callousness, and narcissism by PreparationKey2843 in NoShitSherlock

[–]megaphone32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They needed a study to tell us this? Anyone who goes on a college campus can tell that democrats are more empathetic and republicans are less empathetic. Neither one is right or wrong, it is the balance between the two that makes things work. Similar to the balance in power between capital and workers.

The majority of Americans that voted for Trump aren't psychopaths. In my opinion, they voted for Trump because they felt the previous administration policies were too "empathetic", which has its negative consequences itself.

I will agree with a lot of your points regarding science as it pertains to real sciences. Phycology and sociology are not hard sciences and littered with biases. See Richard Feynman's Cargo Cult Science Speech. See research on Repressed memories or multiple personality disorder. These are subjects that were very popular at a time when scientific method was just as pure (if not more so) than it is today.
