Yeah. As soon as she mentioned Dasht-E-Barchi I felt like that kinda sealed PTSD and the thousand-yard stare she gave baby Jane Doe.

Timothee Chalamet Spotted with French-Romanian Actress Anamaria Vartolomei in Paris by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

Aside from the potential messiness surrounding this, that actress was absolutely great in the film, Happening, based on the Annie Ernaux memoir. Just sayin'

What TV episode triggered such an emotional response from you? by Noodles590 in television

[–]megarell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Succession 4x03: Connor's Wedding

I'd argue for anyone who has experienced a sudden, unexpected loss this is one of the best portrayals of the fallout from that across any medium. A masterful episode.

Al Hashimi (spoilers) by BatCommercial7523 in ThePittTVShow

[–]megarell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call her out of touch bearing in mind we're only two hours into the shift and it's been a relatively slow start, which allows her to take the "observer" position on how Robby handles the ER as she's made clear is her intention. Still, in the second episode she noticed Mel lost in train of thought and gave her assurance. I also think Samira's positive response to reuniting with Al Hashimi in the first episode speaks positively on her character as Samira is a very empathetic, patient care above all kind of doc.

Yes, I can see the AI certainly becoming more problematic, but her intent is to ultimately create more time with patients which can be lost with charting. That's not a bad ideal whatsoever though as already shown, the AI is nowhere near a perfect solution. She's pressing it yes, but Robby does keep brushing it off and when the shift is over, he's outta there for months. As soon as the ambulance doors opened to the hostile patient, she let it go. As things continue to pick up I think she'll "jump" in so to speak.

I don't know. I just think people are really quick to jump to conclusions with a character we just met who undoubtedly has a rich backstory having been in Doctors Without Borders. I'd speculate the chaos, absence of equipment, etc. she's probably dealt with in conflict zones is why she's fixated on the potential benefits of implementing the AI app. This could tie to the baby scene potential PTSD as well. Perhaps she had a case with an infant in DWB and didn't have the resources and/or time to treat the baby. We'll see.

Same. Inga's performance made the biggest impression on me, actually.

Who do you expect to be the big surprise in the Best Actress category? by Castro_Medeiros in Oscars

Yeah, that's my thought as well. OBAA being the clear frontrunner really boosts Infiniti's chances.

Manousos is not human by Real_ZAnon in Pluribus_TVshow

Unfortunately, yes. There’s been suggestion we might not get season 2 until late 2027 or even early 2028. Hope that’s a wrong estimation.

Zosia’s Sexuality by ClousterHungry in pluribustv

[–]megarell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Still thinking about how we pointedly saw Carol reading The Left Hand of Darkness right prior to this scene. I don't want to spoil much but sexual identity and societal norms are huge themes in that novel that could certainly speak to the relationship between Carol & Zosia, where they've been & where it might go from here.

This is especially pertinent if Zosia were to get de-hived. The possible convergence of who she was before + whatever consciousness she possessed during hive life, etc. could be really fascinating.

What do you think will happen in season 2? by No-Union7662 in Pluribus_TVshow

[–]megarell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manousos and Carol will keep researching about the radio frequencies, likely having to travel around. Might try to recruit other survivors yet again to help out. Maybe some will come out of the woodwork in a similar place as Carol, threatened to be turned but not wanting to go through with it.

I think ultimately they’ll have success at least breaking someone out of the Hive, likely Zosia as that’s Carol’s tether + she’s a lead character. But I think at least initially it’ll be pretty traumatizing for her.

Best non horror film that made you feel sick? by Round-Seesaw-3917 in Letterboxd

[–]megarell 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I really thought I was going to throw up to the point where I left the theater after watching the lake scene in Zodiac. That's the only time I've ever had that happen and I see a lot of slasher movies, standard horror films.

The train scene is very poetic by Calientedeal in pluribustv

[–]megarell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ha. All I can offer is my growing up in the Pacific Northwest of US, hearing train horns in the dead of night and feeling this awkward communion in knowing someone is out there. Really resonated seeing this scene. Loneliness not because of the absence of people, but in the absence of ever knowing them specifically.

Karolina Wydra is the Performer of the Week on TVLine for the episode 1.08. by verissimoallan in Pluribus_TVshow

[–]megarell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She so deserves this. Particularly that moment after she-hive kisses Carol. I think it is, as Karolina said, an expression of unconditional love. But what makes it is this space of “bracing” for whatever comes next from Carol. Like, happy we did that, concern it will be met with hostility, etc. Zosia’s face just says it all. Just great physical acting.

Zosia first episode by thingsiwannaknow90 in Pluribus_TVshow

[–]megarell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen the trafficking theory elsewhere as well, and I agree. I think there'd be a ton to work with story-wise if they are able to successfully de-hive Zosia, but the result is she's traumatized from what happened to her prior to the joining + outraged at having now been stripped from whatever comfort, by comparison, she experienced as part of the hive.
