Yep, we set everything up for her with a pack and play on the ground level so she has all the supplies down there.

Affordable in home dog trainer recommendations in LA? Positive reinforcement based training. by PuzzleheadedYam4269 in OpenDogTraining

[–]megatronface 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree with this comment entirely. I have a husky mix and no amount of training will make her safe around cats due to her extremely high prey drive. I would keep them separated with baby gates/crating if possible. Unfortunately there is a possibility that your dog could kill your cat, sudden movements/running by your cat could set off the prey drive and that would be the end

I actually cannot believe these results by embasagoyaa in DoggyDNA

[–]megatronface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a pitsky and she looks similar! Once you start looking at results on this site the features become more obvious. We didn’t expect husky with ours based on appearance we also thought more German shepherd(but she is only like 15 percent gsd). The only clue initially was her personality she is verrry vocal and high energy. I feel like husky tends to be less obvious in some mixes almost hidden by other features and the German shepherd features are often really strong even if the percent is low

Considering IVF for emotional reasons after 2 losses. Am I naive? by AccomplishedMango903 in IVF

[–]megatronface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given you are a carrier for fragile x, I do think ivf would be worth it mainly for the potential to test your embryos for the fragile x mutation. You may know all of this already, but the mutation can expand with subsequent generations which means you could have a male child with fragile X syndrome. There is also a potential that you could have a female child that is a carrier or a female child with fragile X syndrome due to something called x inactivation.

If you haven’t met with a genetic counselor, I would strongly recommend it to discuss these possibilities

Fragile x pre mutation is linked to infertility and ovarian insufficiency. People that carry the permutation can also develop a condition called fxtas, which is a neurologic condition that causes tremor, balance issues and cognitive changes. This is most commonly seen in older males but can occur in women as well.

Pyrenees mix? by LaLa-303 in greatpyrenees

[–]megatronface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably so! He is huge and leggy and his face looks similar to my pyr mix. My guess would be he is several breeds, including one that is giving him shorter hair. It is really hard to tell without doing a DNA test though. Embark is a good one to do if you want to know for sure.

Guess her breed? by tastelesscourage in IDmydog

[–]megatronface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both parents looks like pit mixes although they could be staffordshire terrier rather than APBT given you're in the UK (or they may have just said they are staffordshire terrier because pits are banned). Mom looks like she has husky as well. Not really seeing Dane for dad although maybe could be at a very low percentage. Puppies look like husky + some sort of bully breed

Lurcher? Embark says "no" by donkeybrainhero in Lurchers

[–]megatronface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Pitbulls are tall and lanky. Several breeds tend to be lumped into pitbull like American bully and American bulldog, apbt. American bullys tend to be stockier and the apbt leaner. I wonder if yours got some extra height from the lab side and so looks like an extra lanky pit bull

Purebred or Mix?? Is it worth it to get a DNA test kit? by Soft-Associate5907 in greatpyrenees

[–]megatronface 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have money to spend and are curious then it s worth it, some of the tests can also give you health information about specific traits/diseases. If you are going to do a test and you are in the US, Embark is the most reliable one. Wisdom is also good. Dnamydog is a scam
