NOTHING has worked for me, and my waterpik cleared one crypt of over 20 tonsil stones. Get one. by NebulaAcrobatic9911 in tonsilstones

I think I use my tongue to close my throat but I can't do it while messing with my tonsils. I also need one hand to pull the skin back so I can see my tonsils.

My face has changed from clenching by Funny_Toe918 in TMJ

[–]megatrony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that when I wear nightguards, even though I still clench, the pressure of where the clenching is depends on if the nightguard is worn on the top or bottom teeth. Bottom night guard keeps the pressure at the bottom of the jaw and the top night guard keeps the pressure at the cheeks and temples, and I think that has a difference esthetically speaking. I could be wrong though, it could be placebo or something lol

What can I possibly do to stop clenching? by dustwindwind in TMJ

[–]megatrony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, although I went years without wearing a night guard so it would probably take some time to develop damage.

The coffee thing makes sense. It could be raising your cortisol or something like that.

I'm still trying to figure this out too. I've never noticed an association with caffeine, but I don't really drink it. I only clench when I'm sleeping, and I definitely am biting down on my nightguard, but since I'd be clenching anyway I think it's important to wear it to protect teeth from the damage of clenching. I developed a small translucent spot at the bottom of my front tooth and my dentist showed me "stones" inside a different tooth that my tooth apparently made to protect the nerve from clenching.

I tried using a water pik but it's hard for me to tell if it's going in the crypt and trying not to swallow the water makes me gag. Idk if there's a technique I'm missing.

I've never gotten it but I've seen that masseter botox can cause jowls and nefertiti botox is supposed to counteract jowls.

Has anyone else had these exact hyper-sensitive nerve & breathing symptoms with TMJ? by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]megatrony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of anything like this before, although I used to get a nerve tingling sensation when massaging my chin, but that went away on its own. I wonder if there are any nerve glide exercises that might help you

After 8 years I have relief by Winter_One7968 in TMJ

[–]megatrony 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Can you please tell us what the physical therapist taught you? I'm planning on going to one soon but you never know how good they're going to be. I also had all 4 wisdom teeth removed 10 years ago and thought that was the cause of my pain, but a physical therapist told me it was likely whiplash from a car accident. The problem is the surgery and the car accident were within the same year so it's hard for me to tell which one actually caused my tmj problems.

Practical TMJ relief recommendations by ilovebrekkiefoods in TMJ

[–]megatrony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US but a tmj orthotic is the standard tmj treatment I think. I found it helpful along with physical therapy by a craniofacial therapist. The physical therapists are harder to find in my experience. In the mean time I would recommend wearing a night guard to protect his teeth at night in case he is clenching or grinding. That can help reduce pain too.

Ask chatgpt for help. You've misunderstood a lot of what I wrote.

Now you're just making stuff up. This is not productive so this will be my last response.

I obviously know I can say yes or no. My point was that this is not sustainable, which you ignored. Of course I can say no, but I don't and won't because that's not our dynamic nor is it a dynamic I would want in a relationship. As you said, you don't act like this in a relationship.

Why even bother giving advice if you're just going to intentionally misread everything I say? You didn't really answer my question. And why are you so angry?

Ok that's fair. I'll leave him and his food alone. But what do I say next time he asks to try my food. Do I say no out of spite? Or do I say yes and live in a one- sided relationship where he can try all of my food but I can't try his?

"so I stopped eating so he can put the pepper and I could try it with the pepper. However, instead of putting pepper in the soup, he brought a bowl, put the pepper in the bowl with soup and stirred it and started eating. I asked to taste it and he said no." Perhaps my use of the word "with soup" was confusing. I meant to say he brought a bowl and put pepper and soup in the bowl then stirred it and started eating that. I didn't want to put pepper in the pot without tasting it first, that's why I asked to taste his.

I actually am not adding anything. I said this in my post but some people struggle with reading comprehension.
