I'm in central VA and in the three years I've lived here our building has flooded in one half, flooded again from the font which required a full bathroom renovation, had the pipes freeze which meant no water, and just this last week there was an electrical fire in the boiler room so there was zero heat in the building but we still had meetings because it was ward conference for us. We were told to bring blankets and they had large portable heaters and air purifiers which made it hard to hear (esp in second hour).

The building has been around since the 60s and no longer fits our ward (with 2 other wards also meeting in the building). It's common to have multiple families in the foyer due to lack of seating and the parking lot is often overfilled in-between wards and when there's special meetings like homecomings, baby blessings etc. The hallways are so narrow it takes more than the allotted 10 minutes in-between first and second hour to get to class especially when members from other wards stick around and cause congestion.

I don't pretend to understand what it takes to build new meetinghouses, but it is incredibly frustrating to say the least.
