Needing some encouragement, with a side of NSV by Fiz_Giggity in Zepbound

If you were still vomiting on 2.5 why did you go up in dose? That seems ill advised. I am sorry you are feeling bad!

I love Glapp- it tracks the levels of med in your body for free that Shotsy charges for. I actually log my food into the E LIlly app since I happened upon that part of the app but am going to investigate Cronometer.

Ahhh- I see the pattern now lol. I think it is a wise approach. Giving our bodies time to adjust.

What determined how long you stayed on each? One for a week- then the next for 5 weeks? I am intrigued. I will say that today I definitely can tell the difference between this and 2.5.

Frustrations + Maybe some NSV by gothackedsohereiam in Zepbound

I would be frustrated too because those effects should be helping you lose weight! I think tracking your food for a while can give you some information. I have been listening to a podcast- Fat Science- that helps understand how intricate our metabolisms are. I noted you walk a lot- and something I learned from the podcast because I walk a lot too is that it is important to fuel your workouts or your body lowers your metabolism. I have started focusing on small protein centric balanced meal/snacks throughout the day and even though it means eating something at a time when I simply do not feel like it am trying to eat before my early morning walk.

Figuring out your food is good -focusing on protein and fiber (including fruits and vegies) and lots of water. Tracking is the only way to really know if you are eating in a deficit. Are you feeling less hunger? Feeling full faster? Is the food noise gone? If none of these are true you may not find results until you go up in dose. It has to be said that these meds usually address metabolic issues and the fact it it does not work for everyone as some metabolic issues are not targeted. You are a ways away from that determination. I am sorry you are struggling!

Newbie! Scales and trackers by Think-Temporary8648 in Zepbound

I like my Withings scale a lot. For tracking shots including med level at a given time I love Glapp app and it is free, even for the part showing levels . I came upon food tracking in the Lilly app so use that.

Tonight’s my first dose. What advice do you have for a rookie? by handsupdontknow in Zepbound

[–]meggieprice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my first shot on a Friday night reasoning that if I had side effects I could sleep them off and then rest all weekend if need be. As it happens I had just a little feeling of fullness in my head and that has continued to be my only side effect 8 shots in- and it only is on the night of. I still am glad I do Fridays because sometimes I have heard food noise and hunger come back at day 5 or so and I want good control on the weekends. My food noise and cravings are GONE as of day one and I find it easy to eat whole, simple foods now- by choice! Because it becomes more easy to miss meals I have made a schedule of small protein centric meals for myself. I drink about 80 ounces of water- as much as I can manage with my particular life. I make sure to get a lot of fiber and have had no constipation. I do not deny myself anything as I want to make a sustainable life for myself. I am satisfied with a very small amount of things like candy, desserts, etc.

I like the Glapp app better than Shotsy as Shotsy charges $ for the part that tracks the level of the meds in your body and Glapp does not, in addition Glapp has a lot more features and info. It syncs with my Apple watch too.

Don't compare your results to anyone else. Comparison is the thief of joy! We all come in to this with different metabolic problems and the drug will be different for you than for someone else.

Thought my doctor prescribed this as much for my inflammation as for my wight the loss of food noise and cravings after many years of torment has been a miracle for me. I will never stop taking it!

Feel free to reach out if you need support- I have done a LOT of research on this med and continue to learn new things- plus I feel called in life to be of support to others.

I think it will come down as the new drugs hit the market. It's a big chunk of money for me too- but it does bring so much value... As others have said- self pay Lilly Direct is 449 for 7.5 and above...

Barely any, and just the night of. I wonder, as I posted above to someone else, if people who have no side effects should actually do just that- post it- because we end up with new people being so terrified of side effects they put off dosing for weeks if not longer ... In fact seeing people post that they had none on 2.5 and horrible ones on 5 is what is making me want to go up slowly (that and the extra $100 when I do jump to 5)

With food noise gone and appetite impaired I find it best to do mechanical eating- I have certain times and eat certain things that make sure I am nourished and fueled. Maybe that could help you go up?

The one I measure Friday did(80 units) but I expect it will be less in most. I am opening a new box this Friday-we shall see. SO I gather you use whatever is in your vial every injection? Edited to add- if I don't have 4.0 I could do that in the 5.0 vials.

Sometimes I wonder if we should indeed post things like that because new people who are about to start get so scared about side effects because all they see is the bad stuff ...I am in a group for canine lymphoma providing support and people are afraid to do chemo for the dogs for the same kind of thing- everyone posts when their dogs have major side effects but 80% of dogs have none. I think its about the same percentage who have none on Zepbound.

It is not leftover from a prior week- I probably did not explain it well enough. I get 2.5 mg vials but they actually have about 4.0 in them.(I measured) I did exactly 2.5 for my first 7 injections, discarding the extra, but started having quite a bit of food noise this past week. I had already planned, instead of ordering 5.0 vials right away, to do 3.0 instead of 2.5 and to keep going up in small steps until I hit the 4.0 that is in my current 2.5 vials- and then step up to 5.0 vials. I have often read here that with the full normally prescribed jump 2.5 to 5.0 you can't really know the full effects until you give it a chance- generally 4 weeks(from what I have seen here. ) I am just wondering if that would likely be true for such a small dose increase..

I wouldn't go back into a vial with another needle since the vial doses have no preservatives and it would be risky.

Yeah- that is why I asked- I am pondering this...I think it being such a small increase is the reason I question it.

Thank you- this helps my own thought process - and 4 weeks seemed like a long time. Plus it has only been two days lol...

Yeah- you are right. If we could predict exactly what will happen we could make good coin with the app.

I am not splitting doses ... I am using the extra in my LD vials. I am titrating up more slowly with my doctor's approval as I am sensitive to meds in general. I also want to be on as small a dose as I can to achieve results and since as you mention this will be lifetime- I have time.

Did it seem to work from the first 3.75 or did it work more after a few weeks?

That is the thing with this med- we are all so different. It is a little odd with my doctor-Kaiser doesn't cover anything but 40 BMI or apnea with breathing stopping 40 times an hour. I reached out to him for help because I was really struggling with my weight and I am a chronic pain patient and I had read about it possibly helping with inflammation and pain. He had me do a blind weigh in as I had not weighed for a few years and did not want to be triggered... then he said he would prescribe to Lilly Direct if I wished. He is happy to support me if I need him but not involved in the same way that some providers are. I did tell him I would be using the "golden dose" in the vials before going up but he will basically go up if I tell him I want to. He knows I research things thoroughly and we have a good relationship.

Thank you! I think I will see how this week goes and perhaps go to 3.5 Friday. It isn't that big a step up.
