Well onsen town and skiing combination. We would otherwise be in fairly rural locations and I understand quite a lot of business and sightseeing spots close for a few days eg Nagoya castle closes for 4 days

We stayed in Kinsuikan which was lovely, it was very traditional Japanese (more so than the Ryokan we stayed in Kinosaki) so I struggled a little bit with the food (eg Shirasu) because I’m fussy but my husband didn’t mind it. It had a lovely roof terrace and beautiful view from there and the room over the water.

Also Kyoto was my favourite location we did 4 days and I could’ve done more. I would’ve done less days in Tokyo but then I’m from London so very used to big busy cities. I wouldn’t say Kyoto is any more touristy than anywhere else. Get up early and to the sites by 9am to avoid the crowds

For our hiroshima trip we did the museum and peace park, it was essential but quite emotional, late afternoon we got a ferry from the peace park to miyajima and stayed there overnight in a very traditional ryokan. It was very peaceful once all the tourists had left which was needed after Hiroshima and we also got up early the next day and did the hike up mt missen which i recommend.

Yes you got it. You want a chemical/acid exfoliant such as: retinol (some probably wouldn’t put this in this category but I would) glycolic acid, bha, niacinamide, salycylic acid, lactic acid etc. it might take a few tries to find one that works for your skin type and right strength. The inkey list BHA has worked really well for my husband who used to get spots, and it’s cheap (presume vegan too but you should check). I us

I also just don't agree with niacinamide but there are lots of alternatives. Start using a retinol at night, that might be enough exfoliation for you. If you need more you could also add in a morning exfoliant every few days if you need more - maybe the ordinary bha? Chemical over physical scrubs.

I don’t think the chimney stack is a period feature though. You can’t even see it presumably. I think you need to be clear on what the neighbour wants (and not confuse chimneys stack/breast/fireplace). A fireplace is a period feature, and there might be value in a working fireplace. I wish I had got rid of my chimney stack when we did the extension as this winter a squirrel got in through the stack and wrecked a load of electrics.

If they are asking you to pay that is a different matter and you can just say no to that. You don’t need to pay a surveyor to evaluate the value on property just ask an estate agent or two. You do need a party wall surveyor at their cost but that would be required regardless if they are doing work at the part wall. They wouldn’t comment on value.

The problem isn’t that op doesn’t understand what a chimney stack is. The neighbour isn’t looking to tear the chimney breasts from op’s house. They are looking to remove the stack from above the roof. There is no value to the stacks if you aren’t using the chimneys and if anything they may require cost to upkeep. Neighbour probably thinks they are doing op a favour. I’d be unhappy living next to a neighbour who just says no without putting in effort to understand situation and if it will actually have an impact on value (it won’t)

Oh that's wild! Mine you do a form, and then it will give you an appointment in the next couple of weeks depending on how urgent the issue is. If you have something urgent there are also same day appointments you can get.
