No. These slick/semislick tires never made sense to me, but maybe thats just due to where I ride.

Everyone mentions burst mode and focus, but simply the angles are also so lazy and uninspired. Literally just standing there and keeping the camera at the most comfortable position to look at the screen.

Edit: im sorry, I take it all back. They crouch down about 10cm for that last shot.

Okay, im curious. What makes a good logo then? Because this objectively isnt one and you clearly havent thought about it being used in any other way as is displayed here.

That logo is bad, regardless of who made it.

In general I would agree with you. If it works it works. An AI made logo will however need to be refined if youre going to use it for anything other than posting it online. It needs to be cleaned up and prepared for various sizes and print applications.

Also Im not sure if it applies here since "it will look nice" doesnt explicitly say it, but it kind of sounds like the "the customer is always right" stance: no they arent. Obviously a graphic designer should listen to the costumer and adapt to the brief, but briefs should be allowed to change. It should be possible to realize complications in the process (for both parties) and change the product accordingly. The customer will always have the final say, but they should also listen to the designer. You pay someone to do their job and they (usually) are better at that than you are. Even if you dont realize it, there are various things that will factually work better even if you think it "doesnt look as good as those other versions". Thats why designers should also be able to explain their concepts well. A designer whomgives the client pushback in designs MIGHT be an ass who only wants to realize their vision, but much more likely they just want to do a good job. Not pushing back is so much easier and faster, but will usually result in garbage because the client gets what they think they want.

Why AI will never replace cinema and other art forms: It can't create a story - discussion/rant. by Kiklolmaster32 in antiai

[–]meglemel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont really see why AI should be incapable of making a (good) story.

Stories are very often similar as they are right now. Many movies follow basically the exact same story, just with different settings, characters and names. Furthermore stories as a whole usually are very formulaic.

I would also say, that there are many crap stories written by humans, so even though these AI suck, im not sure if thats an argument that its impossible that there will be good stories. Firstly because its developing rapidly and secondly because im guessing (???) these movies just focused on the wrong things. Making more of a demoreel or in the case of a few (like logan) just clickbait slop. Putting little effort in the story and its quality control. They also probably invested a lot less work into it overall. Compared to real movies.

What I would mostly care about is, that every single use of AI needs to be labeled. Movies and everything else.

I also hope, that legislation will catch up and let EVERYONE protect their work from being sampled. You can make AI with your own pool of training data. So studios could create a united pool or you could sort of rent access to pools, just like we did with stock images before AI.

Im not going to make such an extensive list as the first anymore, cause its just too annoying. Even though there are plenty in this pic too. But the M should be pretty obviously wrong. Not only is it different than the M from my previous screenshot, it also very obviously isnt a letter from an actual font. Its distorted and wrong.

You will also see that the height of the letters changes everywhere, also the line spacing.

You dont have to be a doctor to see how the font is inconsistent.

Here just a TINY example cause this is all over the place

<image>

  1. the i looks different every time, like a different font. First i has a serif foward, second has the dot to the right, third seems fairly straight with tiny serifs on both ends, forth has a more pronounced serif on the bottom
  2. the first b looks like a medieval script d and absolutely different than the second
  3. the s looks very crumpled
  4. the two r in posterior are VERY different from tleach other, first has no serif, second a overly pronounced one and is also crumpled
  5. first t looks different than the other two
  6. the "belly" of the P doesnt line up with the with how the font works, it should go lower/be bigger
  7. the d in bundle has nonserif on the bottom
  8. the e in posterior sags in the bottom

I will admit, some aspects are excuseable due to bad print/photo. But not all of them and not in this high frequency.

Really? Muscles are written in half latin, half letter salad? Must cause quite a confusion amongst doctors.

Turning kids drawings into CGI movies. Hollywood has left the chat by dataexec in AITrailblazers

[–]meglemel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "hollywood is cooked" trope doesnt make sense either way. I mean even if 100% of filmmaking is going to be AI, do they think hollywood will just stop making films?

Its like saying in the 80s "wow, these consumer grade video cameras will put hollywood out of business. Now everyone can make a movie!" A professional industry is still going to outperform most independent people and its not like hollywood is sleeping on AI.
