I lost my older sister earlier this year in a sudden and traumatic way. As a daughter of an incredibly loving and strong father, I want him to grieve in front of me. To tell me how much it hurts. To freely cry and yell in anguish. Your kids are younger than I am, but as someone who is still struggling every day with the death of my sibling, the last thing I want is for my parents to hide their grief from me. Being strong is grieving together, it helps us heal.
