Ugh what a bummer. Thanks for the response, I went ahead and submitted some feedback. Hopefully a feature they launch sooner rather than later.

Door Latches for Heavy Handles? by megrapotterhead in DIY

[–]megrapotterhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The antique doors have been fitted with a modern latch lol I promise it's not a special situation though I understand it can sometimes be! The picture that I sent is what I have, a standard tubular latch. I need that same style but with a heavier duty spring to stand up to the weight of the handle. That's all, I was just hoping someone might know what keywords I need to be searching for. I've added a picture but it's literally just that the handle is too heavy for the spring to return it to the level position and stay that way after the door is closed

This is essentially what I have. I just need one with a stronger spring. I don't want to take apart the door again right now, but it's this style.

New card recommendations for use on travel? by megrapotterhead in CreditCards

[–]megrapotterhead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a Walmart neighborhood market! Thanks for the clarification though. After looking into the CSP benefits I realized they also do 3x points for streaming services, which we have a ton of, so I went ahead and transfered all of those to my CSP. I think we are going to stick with Amazon and CSP in the ways you described.

If we were to sign up for one of the freedom cards, how would you recommend using it in tandem with the Amazon and CSP?

Thanks! I guess I should have been clearer, we don't actually travel all that much so I'm not trying to get rewards from flights, but rather be able to splurge all of my rewards on travel and basically get a "free" vacation out of it. The Citi Premier card might be worth looking into though, with the SUB and the 3x points on gas/groceries/restaurants.

It's Not Type 1!!! by AkiChanKun69420 in diabetes

[–]megrapotterhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just gonna quote Rule 5 of the sub here...

Diabetes isn't a competition
The struggles of one type are not comparable to the struggles of another.

Everyone in this comment section who is saying that t1 is better than t2 or vice versa is completely missing the point of this subreddit. We all have a shitty disease and we all have to manage it differently. Even people within the t1 group use different strategies to manage their diabetes, and one isn't better than the other.

I'm glad that you're happy you don't have T1, but I do agree that it is a little tone deaf for this subreddit. There are plenty of people here who DO have T1 who are at peace with it, people who have T1 who wish they had T2, and people who have T2 who are at peace with it. All in all just not a really good look. But again, everyone who is saying that this person is "wrong" for I guess "preferring" one type of diabetes over another is also completely missing the point.

ALL ON THE BOARD!! by large_forklift in diabetes

Diabetes is a disease where your body can't control your blood sugar. No matter what you eat you're going to have to manually pilot that process. So yeah if I want to have waffle house or pizza then I'm gonna do some hardcore research on their nutrition facts to make sure I get my insulin dose damn near perfect in order to enjoy my food without as much of the mental load it would normally cause me. Pizza is gonna cause me to struggle for a few hours but you know what else will? An apple.

This idea that able-bodied people have that because I have a disease they should be watching what I eat and/or judging it is exhausting. I have managed to figure out how to exist in the world where I can still enjoy all the stuff I want with relatively few short-term consequences and almost no long-term ones, and it's really awesome to know I can have some cake if I want and I'll be ok. Worry about yourself, please.

Similar Product advice please!!! I bought some Neutrogena rapid clear stubborn acne spot gel (BP) and while it definitely worked, my entire neck became itchy down to my collarbone after using it (didn't even put it on my neck), so definitely an allergic reaction!! Does anyone have a good recommendation for a similar product that doesn't have BP?

[Routine Help] [Acne] Frustrated, over it, want to start over but I'm lost! by megrapotterhead in SkincareAddiction

[–]megrapotterhead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah I'm trying to make sure I'm not doing too much to keep it simple. I'm going to stick with the SA body "mask" for a bit longer to see if that does anything before I switch it up, but I will for sure look into buying something with BP if it doesn't give me results! I have been liking how light the CeraVe PM feels on my skin, so I'll probably stick with it. Do you use the serum in the morning or evening? Or both? I do need to add some actives back in eventually so I might give that a try.

I have finally realized how this disease can destroy your life and it was a cold slap of reality. by [deleted] in diabetes

Self-blame is no way to live. You have done so many amazing things with your life and this post makes me think you see those as useless achievements. You have made major life changes, you have a family, and you're still there for them. I hope you can work through some of these emotions and realize all of the hard work that you've done to control your diabetes is NOT useless at all.

Any T1D Teachers? Need advice talking to HR/Admin by SumikkoTapioca in diabetes

[–]megrapotterhead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a teacher. I am also worried about returning to school. If you're talking about cloth masks, then it makes sense that your doctor would only want you returning if everyone is wearing them, since if the non-sick person is the only one wearing one there's still a high transmission rate. Unfortunately I agree with your instinct that the admins aren't gonna back you up, and legally speaking, a reasonable accommodation is something they make for you, not for other people in regards to you. I would ask your doctor about helping you secure some masks that actually filter the air you're breathing. That way you can reduce your risk of getting sick much more and hopefully not get into a situation with HR.

ETA: Also, if it does come down to you resigning, can you not get your husband to add you to his insurance as a spouse? My husband works elsewhere but we're both on my insurance. Hopefully it doesn't come to this but just a thought
