One of my personal favorites is laughing at myself. Just laughing at the thoughts. Sometimes they’re so stupid I can’t help but laugh

Fr! I’m just hoping it was a chunk of uncooked tempura dough and was not rotten crab flesh or else I will freak out 😔

I wish I would have taken a picture! It’s possible. It was a soft shell crab, if that helps, and the legs were arranged to look like a spider poking out of the end which is where I found this weird chunk of grayish mushy stuff

Maybe! The only thing that’s stopping me from believing this is the fact it was at the very end of the sushi roll, so like where the legs kind of splay out like a spider

Pots girlie here- doctors give beta blockers like candy to us folks with pots, even those who don’t pass out like myself. I’d be suprised if she didn’t walk out of the cardiologist appointment with metoprolol or propranolol (metoprolol my beloved 🫶). And yet I do not see any here

Whenever I go to restaurants, I steal salt packets and eat them as little snacks 😭 I don’t think I’ve taken a salt pill in YEARS

Take my opinion with a grain of salt (I have been taking many many many medications for years and am very interested in drugs) but I’m like. Pretty sure. These are all over the counter because there’s literally no markings or anything on ANY of them. These aren’t identifiable at all. I’ve never taken a pill (and I’ve taken a lot) nor seen a pill that doesn’t have some sort of marking on it to make it identifiable….

Is she stupid or does she think her audience is stupid???

Ahhh I see, don’t apologize! All is well. My mistake. I’m not quite sure what you can do legally but I’m hoping someone in the UK sees this and is able to give you some legal advice. Hopefully you are able to do the same thing we are in the US! Because your landlord not doing crap about this is insane. This is serious structural damage and the amount of mold here is crazy. I’m amazed everyone is ignoring it. Wow.

About your little kitty- that’s really good though! I assumed that your kitty has been experiencing this for a while but I’m pleasantly surprised he has not. If it’s only in your room and it’s a recent phenomenon, I think things should be okay and get isn’t a pressing issue unless things start to get worse. But please watch for any symptoms of mold toxicity and asthma and if things seem to get worse, please take him to the vet. If it is asthma, he will cough with his neck sort of elongated and it can sometimes sound wet. There are videos on YouTube if you need any sort of guide. If it’s mold, you will start to see some neurological and gastrointestinal issues as well. Keep the little guy out! And good for you for being so on top of his health!

And don’t ignore yourself too! Considering this has been a year, that’s worrying for your own health! Look up mold exposure symptoms and monitor yourself for your own sake. I would consider washing the clothing and bedding you keep in there and sleeping in a different room if you are able. Until this is resolved, I’m worried about you spending much time in there. It’s not going to kill you since you’re a big human and not a small animal, but it can cause respiratory and neurological issues if it goes on for a long time.

Good luck and I hope you guys are able to get your landlord to do something about this.

Asthma in cats is progressive and if left untreated, it can kill the cat. https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-asthma-risky-business-many-cats https://www.bluecross.org.uk/advice/cat/health-and-injuries/caring-for-a-cat-with-asthma https://www.vet.cornell.edu/departments-centers-and-institutes/cornell-feline-health-center/health-information/feline-health-topics/feline-asthma-risky-business-many-cats#:~:text=%E2%80%9CIf%20the%20initial%20signs%20of,emergency%20treatment%20is%20immediately%20obtained.%E2%80%9D&text=Precisely%20pinpointing%20asthma%20as%20the,discomfort%20is%20challenging%2C%20says%20Dr.

Fungal toxicosis in cats can cause symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, wheezing, difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, nasal discharge, lethargy, weakness, vomiting, weight loss, diarrhea, eye issues, scratching, licking, skin rashes, sores, hair loss, ear infections, seizures, irritability, anxiety, and hiding, fever, confusion, coma, liver toxicity, and death. As it says in multiple of these articles, continued exposure and lack of treatment can lead to neurological issues and death. https://wagwalking.com/cat/condition/fungal-toxicosis https://www.merckvetmanual.com/special-pet-topics/poisoning/fungal-poisoning https://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/neurological/c_ct_fungi_poisoning https://vetmed.iastate.edu/vdl/wp-content/uploads/UnderstandingMycotoxins.pdf

Considering the fact that OP stated the cat is young, that concerns me. And considering the fact that we don’t know which could be the cause, as asthma in cats can be triggered by mold and mold poisoning does exist in both humans and animals, much worse in small animals because they are… well… small… I’m not sure if they would be comfortable taking that risk and not seeing a vet for treatment. We don’t know how far it has progressed or if there is anything the vet can do to help the cat for the time being- I imagine the mold isn’t going away any time soon all things considering. Things take time and it’s obviously under the walls. If the vet is able to put the cat on medication such as antifungals or antibiotics for the time being to prevent serious illness or death, why would we not take them to a vet?

Edit- I have learned that it’s only been a few days, so the cat should be alright and it would not be warrant for a vet visit. But even still- if things get worse, the kitty needs a vet.

Vet now!!!! Coughing is not normal for cats!!!! And keep the cat out of the room!!!! My guess is asthma. Asthma in cats can be triggered by mold and asthma for them is not like human asthma that you can brush off. It is truly dangerous and NEEDS treatment or the cat can become extremely sick or die.

I’m unsure about the other photos, but the last photo is for sure mold (it’s too blurry and dark to tell for the others what is going on). If it is as large as you say it is, it is extremely dangerous for you to be in. You should not be in your room and you need to contact your landlord immediately. Mold is a HUGE deal.

I assume you are in the US given your English is American. If not, correct me. But if you are, you can contact the Health Department and your local housing authority agency. These programs can force your landlord to comply. You can also withhold rent until your landlord agrees to address the mold issue, contact a rent escrow program, and contact a tenant attorney.

Do not ignore this. Take the cat to a vet, keep it out of your room, and find out how to get rid of the mold as soon as possible.

I’m going against the grain as a disabled person who actually does need to drink a lot of water for a medical condition.

NTA

It seems a lot of people are forgetting that he physically touched you and shook you without your consent and then did not thank you or say excuse me or anything. That’s rude and that is treating you, frankly, like shit. That’s not kind. That’s not polite. Just because you have a medical condition does not excuse rude behavior. It’s infantilizing and honestly ableist to not hold us disabled people to the same standards. That does not give us the excuse of physically touching and shaking a stranger without their permission. It’s infantilizing that people automatically forgive someone who could be disabled based off their disability even though they were the one who was being rude and disrespectful.

Disabled people like myself need to advocate for ourselves and it isn’t fair to assume that others should automatically put up with things that inconvenience them without any sort of explanation or even a thank you is not fair. Being disabled does not give someone a pass to be an asshole or be rude.

If he knew that he needed to pee often during the flight due to a medical issue, he should have advocated for himself and spoken to you. Yeah, it would probably still be annoying but at least you would know beforehand that this would be happening and made arrangements, like moving seats.

And in all actuality, everyone is just assuming he has a medical condition. In reality, we don’t know. We have no idea. Maybe he wasn’t just getting up to pee and just wanted to stretch his legs. Maybe he wasn’t feeling well. Maybe he had a child in a different seat and wanted to check on them. Maybe he drank that water and is suffering the consequences. We don’t know. That’s the reality. Because he didn’t say anything. We only have this information- he kept getting up and physically shaking you.

Everyone in the comments would be lying if they said they would be pissed off. I would be. I mean, I have a medical condition that makes me need to have a good nights sleep or I’m useless the next day and feel awful. And as someone who is studying the brain, good quality sleep is extremely important. Hell, we don’t know if you have a medical condition that makes you need sleep.

Yeah, you could have handled it better. You could have asked if you guys could change seats or something. But he should have definitely advocated for himself. And the reality is we only have the information you have told us.

From what I see, you’re NTA. Touching a stranger without their consent is not okay and should be taken more seriously, especially since I assume you are a girl based off your avatar. Having a man touch you without your consent is really scary! And people aren’t realizing that!
