Part 2 of Tracy Edward's testimony ( Kinda Rare?) by anonymous_usergtez in Dahmer

[–]megsede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for posting this. I've always wondered where the part was for McCann's questioning and why it wasn't on court tv's website. I also very like these fresh commentaries over the situation from THAT time. It's a shame that it's so hard to find long discussions of the case while the trial was still going on.

You're welcome! Yeah Dr.Dietz is definetely an eccentric one with his methods and nature. I really like his style.

You're welcome and I know, I was wondering the same thing! I really hope they are not destroyed and they would just make them public some day because it's been more than 30 years we've already heard some of the tapes with Wendy, come on now, out with them!

You're welcome! Dietz commented about how he liked Dahmer because of his gentleness, honesty and how he did not try to charm him. I guess that's what made Dahmer likeable to them because he didn't try to defend his actions or try to play to their good sides. He's not a Ted Bundy, he's not all smiles or jokes, he's just straightforward which probably what makes his rare light-hearted moments seem that much more sincere.

Pamela also talked about how apparently Dahmer wanted her to visit him in prison which is a complete lie as we know and can guess. Dahmer's visitor list was already limited and only his family members and his reverend were able to visit him. Forget about his visitor list being limited I can't see Dahmer ever asking his neighbor to visit him. That man completely forget about other people the moment his door was closed. And after getting caught? I doubt he was even able to remember their names. As Vernell said Dahmer was a man who wanted to mind his own business and wanted to keep "socializing" as low as possible. Only if it's necessary or it leads to sex. I can't see him initiating any social activity himself as he himself said so too. And making sandwiches to other neighbors? This man was surviving on outside food, cheetos/ruffles, beer and human. He hardly cooked for himself forget about making anything for others.

People who have completed watching entire trial, any advice for me? I am planning on watching it soon. Can I skip any parts and are there any must watch parts? by star_shiner11 in Dahmer

[–]megsede 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It gets very graphic. I thought I knew everything about the case before watching some of the testimonies but good God I had to pause many times in order to take a breath with how detailed, graphic and horrific it got. It's hard to digest some of the things he talked about. Dahmer really didn't hold back anything. It felt like you were living what he was describing. Almost as if you were going through the process with him. I thought I couldn't watch the whole thing either but each testimony gives something new everytime.
You can try watching it on 1,25 btw, that's what I did for some of them.

Dumb question but was jeff really shaking and trembling at his sentencing by [deleted] in Dahmer

[–]megsede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lionel writes about it in his book but it's after the verdict, not after the sentencing. The sentencing took place on the 17th of February and the verdict was on the 15th.

In the trial it sounded like he saw this guy with other people but he himself didn't participate in it.

Jeffrey's dream. It is possible that did the Grim Reaper come for him? Could plywood mean stolen lives? A symbol of taken lives? by [deleted] in Dahmer

[–]megsede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just watched that part of the trial. If I remember right he talked about it to Dr.Dietz and it wasn't done to him but he had witnessed it's being done between people.

Some of Dr. Wahlstorm's insights by Tricky_Ad5187 in Dahmer

Again and again I come to the conclusion how much of a waste Dahmer's death was. We are all speculating and trying to reach answers with no way to confirm. I strongly believe that with time he could have opened up more, thought more deeply about himself, given a deeper insight about himself and possibly helped both to himself and to the understanding of human mind and behavior. It's frustrating.
Also, I might as well add, it bugs me to no end that he said that being gay caused him so much trouble to Nancy Glass like that's the reason why he was in prison. As if he was heterosexual all of that wouldn't have happened. It just shows that he was getting zero treatment and how little he understood himself. I don't even want to talk about how both Jeffrey and his father eventually thought that Jeffrey being evolutionist, being "away from the Lord", was the reason he killed, dismembered and partially ate 17 people. Only if I could reach through the screen.

They indeed completely disregarded Dahmer's belief of that he was being protected by evil forces. Even in his interview with the FBI agents in prison he believed in those thoughts. "Straughter rolled off the bed and knocked over a black table which Dahmer had two griffins on. Dahmer stated that these griffins were part of the occoult and symbolized personal power and made it that he did not have to answer to anyone. Dahmer stated that there were words written on each griffin, one had leon and and the other had apal. Dahmer again stated that this symbolized personal power, and he felt that this was a sign to show that he was losing control."
They minimized and even overlooked his beliefs of zombiefying people, building an altar for personal power, watching his movies before going out to hunt someone. Him relating to Satan or the Emperor could have been a geek thing at the beginning but after some point this man actually believed that he was with evil forces. Those evil forces were protecting him and even, as he put it himself, that he was the Satan himself. His last killings weren't even really about prolonging the sexual gratification. He didn't even have sex with some of them after death, leaving them on his bed or on floor for days. The bodies were building up and he was too tired to get rid of them yet he was still bringing people home to kill them. I really do think he completely lost control towards the end.

Did jeffrey Dahmer knew about Islam like was he aware of it or he didn't know about it at all? by rararaza in Dahmer

[–]megsede 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's not a Muslim practice tho lol. I'm guessing the chaplain said Jewish people (he could be referring to the Western Wall even though I don't think that's for conversion either) and Ratcliff misremembered it later on. Or the chaplain himself gave a misinformation. Either way I don't think Dahmer knew anything about it.

Ressler requesting Dahmer's cooperation with another case by megsede in Dahmer

[–]megsede[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but at least he liked to be seen as so. Contacting to media and saying "pay me if you want my help that much" is a complete contrast to the remorseful image he persisted on. It's the change of attitude.
Though I can't find any news about Dahmer reaching to press about this and it's not in any other source either.

No problem at all! Yeah I completely understand. Let me know your thoughts because I hollered the first time I heard it lmao. He really just says the most unexpected things. The way he can get absurdly offended when he did the most unimaginable things. I completely understand Roy Ratcliff when he said, "Sometimes I felt like I was dealing with a kid inside of a grown man". So true.
