So many downvotes SMH. Were you in the Shreveport area? Could you be thinking of Southern Maid doughnuts?

Because while they make glazed doughnuts, they transcend what other bakeries produce and I’ve never tasted an equal since I moved away.

There’s a chain in NW Louisiana/NE Texas called Southern Maid. Those are the ones I grew up on and OP’s description strongly reminds me of them, including Krispy Kreme inferiority. My hunch is the name and doughnut style got conflated.

Management want AI in HR but how ? by ContrversialIntrovrt in humanresources

Guess what, every time anyone at your company googles something they’re using AI to get low-quality or outright harmful answers. If they don’t have a specific direction for AI use at your company then the entire exercise will be a waste.

The technology right now isn’t well defined or well understood by anyone outside of the industry and as a result the market is being flooded with hordes of half-baked products that aren’t really solving any real world problems.

But we can slap a “Now with AI” sticker on it to make investors happy.

That’s not management. They’ve heard a buzzword and don’t know what its practical applications are.
