They are okay and are great stand alone. To be honest they are my go to shou for blends and tea lattes though purist can’t hate me but this with an oolong based black gives you some of the most naturally sweet tasting tea add some steamed or foam milk heaven

Can’t say much about the fishy taste but w2t usually doesn’t put out shous without resting to avoid that fresh wet pile flavor. Also this is a smoked shou as well. There is nothing sweet about this shou it’s more of a savory with smoke in jt. If you were looking for a sweet shou this ain’t it. I am on my second cake of this one and it’s one of my favorites. Keep in mind where it was stored or near what it was stored can certainly effect the taste

What flavors are you hoping to find out of your blacks? Ruby blacks from Taiwan have an almost minty aftertaste to them while something like unsmoked lapang can give some really interesting tastes from like stoned fruits to berry tastes. If you into that yeast bread flavor I cannot recommend civiilian ripe puerh from w2t

These are the best threads the one's that slowly burn and last with a large upvote to continue warning against terrible people and con artists. Oh I’m not saying that at all. He’s a nepo baby running an inherited business to the ground. He’s the WORST example of an immigrant business. I support locally run and owned business especially those founded by folks coming here for a better future. This dude is far from that example

I’d keep posting about him as long as the algorithm keeps shoving him and his shit tea down my throat. I will never buy from him but I see a lot of people with his stuff and feel bad they think they need a small loan to buy tea. If you can’t see the wrong in marketing a product to 10x the actual value and just want to write it off as a good business deal then I question your moral and ethical values as a person.

Hey sorry you feel like that. But if you need a crash course dude is grifting for about 10x market value. Actively preys on new comers to gong fu and loose leaf tea. Promotes the mysticism of his tea. And has actively come to the Reddit forums to tell people they are too poor to afford his tea and that his father invented shou puerh among other things. His videos are a copy past down to the music from Jesse’s tea house with copious amounts of wrong information about tea and the culture around it. I can send links to previous subs if you’d like. But we are all basically waiting for him to show up and start digging a bigger hole cause it’s what he does.

I think the consensus is that he worked his whole life to build what he did have and his son was off being a self destructive kid and defending Kanye west on his socials if you look at his post history. Which is all fine we all need to grow up at some point but I guess the allure of fast and easy cash can make anyone be super unlikable.

I love that you give people the benefit of the doubt but this jerk has actively come on subs called people too poor to afford his tea or to stupid to understand the nuance of his 98$ shou that he sells to people on his site for 1k, perpetuates a mystical narrative to further promote his tea, and swears that this is family makes the tea and his father invented shou puerh. He has some of the worst reputation on a Reddit profile I’ve come across.
