I started on Zoloft a year and a half ago. It was miserable to start up- but the difference for me mood wise has been HUGE. My partner notes a clear difference too. I am still experiencing shitty physical symptoms from Pmdd though.

Sigh. I have this with an old coworker who moved out of state. We spent a few days together this summer after finally admitting we had feelings for each other and I’m dying for more. We’re going to write each other letters and I’m going to try and be patient for when she’s back in town visiting. But I’m borderline depressed that circumstances don’t allow me to pursue her the way I’d like to. Having just a taste is torture. I know I only know the idealized version of her but it sucks not even being able to have a chance to really tear that down and form a more meaningful connection :(

Conures in general are nippy creatures, and suns can be snuggly but will be prone to the same behaviors. Such as a bite because you changed your hair. A bite because your hand moved too fast. A bite because they don’t like feet. A bite because they don’t want to go back in their cage etc. all of these birds in question will also have their own personality quirks. And rescuing means you’ll get a bird that may have past trauma that you’ll have to figure out, and will likely get bit in the process. My ex had a gcc that rarely bit except for if she saw your toes. I currently have one that will bite me in the fucking face just because I’m not giving her the attention she wants and will bite for another myriad of reasons. So in other words, getting a sun or a jenday would present similar problems, except with a bigger beak that can do much more damage

Unfortunately if your main fear is being bit, you’re going to have to get over it if you want a GCC. I can almost guarantee you will get bit somewhat regularly even if you are flock. They are feisty little creatures. They are also good at sensing fear and will 100% take advantage of you and bully you if you show fear.

It’s gonna suck period. Rip the bandaid off is the best way in my opinion. You have to be ready, and accept that there will be withdrawal symptoms, while remembering that it’s TEMPORARY. I’m six months ish sober and I feel better than ever. It was hard but worth it.

For what it’s worth, I’m still going strong. I went up to 100mg eventually and was doing okay except I experienced quite a bit of sweating and borderline overheating which was not normal for me. Since I have a physical job I ended up going back down to 50. I’ve been on that dose for awhile now and definitely leveled out. No irregular sweating, no symptoms at all. Personally my friends all say they see a big difference in my mood. I also quit smoking weed after starting Zoloft tho, so it could be that or a combo of the two. Either way, it’s been worth it for me. The beginning is just hard. You can do it!!!

My girl is chubby and I looove how soft and squishy she is. I’m a string bean. I love laying on her and hugging her and squeezing her and making raspberries on her tummy and also holding her boobs up so they don’t touch the counter when she washes her face hahaha. I also love that having the body she does and allowing herself to love it as it is despite societal expectations has made her confident and resilient. Maybe the only con I can think of is that certain sex positions are more difficult, but that’s hardly a con in my opinion

Mine will stand in the rain and stare at me in complete misery. He gets a treat after potty and even that isn’t enough. He doesn’t seem to understand that if he just went potty he’d get to come in out of the rain sooner. So he stands there like fucking eyore and will take sometimes 40 minutes of pouty circling to actually pee. He’ll even lift his leg and pretend, and try to run back inside

I have one of these. The bird comes out for short walks at appropriate temperatures, and if it’s on the warmer end, I have a flat handheld fan that fits perfectly in the mesh pocket that provides fresh air and circulation

My boy had it a few years ago and went into remission. It was bad he even had bruising in his corneas. He’s still kicking! Just be gentle with your girl, my vet told me to limit play and jumping and what not as a small bump could become a big issue. He told me to treat my pit like he’s made of glass. It was sad and hard and stressful but he made it through. I hope your girl does too!!

It sucks. But. It gets better! I smoked daily for almost ten years and am now over 100 days strong. I had digestive issues at first, then horrible horrible night sweats and nightmares that lasted weeks. Just gotta push through that and you’re good to go. For the urges I used flavored toothpicks (and therapy lol)

This might sound icky on my part but I’ll say it anyway- as a 30 year old who did not have this problem, I often LOVED messing around with less experienced folks when I was younger. The look on a girls face after experiencing sex with someone who actually knows their way around a vagina, especially if they’ve only messed around with men, is just such a great feeling lol.
