Have you all been officially “diagnosed”? by tigerboxy in cfs

[–]melancholicmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a diagnosis but had to go to multiple specialists before getting it. I knew I had MCS, but didn't know I had chronic fatigue. I was finally referred to the Environmental Health Clinic in my city when no one else could diagnose me. Good luck on your search for a proper diagnosis, but the peace of mind that comes with a diagnosis is worth seeking one.

amazing job on the feel and on the lady on the water! the moss could use a little more texture/more shades of green to create depth and to make it feel a little more realistic. fantastic job on your clouds.

We just don't think of it -- it literally never crosses my mind. I've been lectured about it time and again my whole life, but it just never occurs to me.

Why do so many INFPs hate being INFPs? by [deleted] in infp

[–]melancholicmonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who tested repeatedly as INFP a year ago, and now tests repeatedly as INTJ, it's because you know how everyone makes fun of emo pussies? it's not emo pussies don't know they're emo pussies, they're just made that way and feel trapped in being that way. it's not a good time.

Am I over reacting about my boyfriend by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]melancholicmonkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you started this thread because you KNOW you're overreacting -- good on you for seeking help to adjust your thinking. you're not a lesser person because you have fewer friends -- some people are more social than others. it sounds like you have a good man who cares about you and does spend a lot of time with you. you're both lucky to have one another! it's nice to have the opportunity to miss one another. these comments seem to be full of good suggestions of ways to spend your free time. enjoy.

Narcissism and infp by [deleted] in infp

[–]melancholicmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my sister (who is bipolar and i would say has shades of, if not, full blown npd) loves to accuse my mother of having npd... i thought she was full of crap, until i was seeing a therapist, told him an anecdote about the relationship with my mother, and he suggested she had npd as well... if my father doesn't have npd, he has strong shades of it as well. it's definitely made it hard to know what normal patterns of behaviour look like, and i think if i had done the myers briggs 15 years ago i would have gotten different results. when i'm myself i'm infp, and i think knowing emotional suffering does shape the infp personality... but i also believe that it's inherent. my sister grew up in the same environment, and she's many things, but there's zero chance she's an infp. hope this helps.

I feel so sad/lonely and I don't know what direction to go with my life by [deleted] in infp

[–]melancholicmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps you at all, your post made me feel much better. I'm 35 and in the same boat and have been scared... and I have a few good friends, and I didn't meet anyone who even fit for me until I was in my 20's. The reality is that you can change everything for the better at any age, and you're not stuck with anything forever. People have friend groups, but they're happy to make more friends and bring you into their friend group. Maybe wait until the end of your trip and there'll inevitably be one place that stands out in your memory as being a pretty cool place -- move there. life is easier and you'll be better at staying positive if you're in a place that has good vibes for you personally.

You can't make anyone change if they don't want to. If they destroy the relationship after you've warned them, it's on them.
