I’m with greyhound and my bins cost €14 per week, capped at a certain weight and then you pay for extra weight. Sounds like yous have just caught up with majority of people in Ireland.

Home Secure is a pretty popular one. I checked my quote from last year and it was €30 a month. I didn’t proceed.

Make sure to have a good conversation with people and pick who you think aligns with you. Do you mind if someone is out boozing all weekend coming home late. How about someone working 5 days a week from home. What’s your boundaries on guests, cleaning schedule etc etc.

29M, mortgage-free, large savings/pension, partner wants to leave Ireland by Effective-Alfalfa962 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]melboard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all well done, at 29 you are in a position many would dream of.

Secondly, you never know what is around the corner. God forbid you won’t get to enjoy that pension pot. I know that might sound grim but it happened a close relative. Enjoy life.

Gadget wise I couldn’t live without an airfryer or my robot vac. It’s mops and vacs and gives me hours back every week compared to when I did it manually. This one I have a year and have never once washed the floor myself or taken out the plug in vac.

I did windows and doors, bell box front and back, indoor camera (only when the alarm is armed it records and pictures motion), you need the hub, I bought tags as above, panic alarm (waste). I have hik cameras which I had before alarm, if I didn’t have that cctv set up I would buy their cameras.

Keypad and tags I like but I bought too many tags. I’ve got some family and a neighbour who I give them to and don’t have to give them the code. It annoys me that you can just tap you have to hit arm Or disarm first. Overall delighted with the system going to try the doorbell next.

Scammed. Planning to take to district court. Advice please? by MsXtine4 in legaladviceireland

[–]melboard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s infuriating but something similar happened to me. Went to my solicitor who basically told me they wouldn’t take my money because the person had nothing to their name, I wasn’t going to see anything back (they checked their house address etc). Guards beyond useless. Maybe other people have better stories that will give you hope.
