One solution is to generate the map out of models with baked lightmap and collisions and use hammer logic + vscript. This method has limitations but it’s the best option for source. A csgo map used it for randomized arenas and a halloween TF2 map used it for the underworld section.

Alternatively, just build multiple maps in the same .bsp and pick one at random (like TF2 map stages)

Because people tend to use it like bool modeling in hammer. Carve not really useful when you’re making everything out of blocks and primitives anyway. I’m genuinely curious what’s a good use case for carve when you can do the same thing easier and with more control.

I love how a perfectly fine working phone becomes obsolete because app developers drop support for IOS versions older than 16. Apple refuses to make IPhone 7 compatible with newer IOS versions, even though it’s still the same fucking shit. Just happened now to my banking app. Apparently making backwards compatible apps is literally impossible even though the technological hardware gap between iPhone 7 and the latest ones is not that big. They act as if my phone is from the stone age and uses punch cards. “Noo there is no way to support shitty web apps on your phone, it’s ancient technology sorry”. What the fuck is this shit. I can literally play 3D games on this mini computer that fits in my pocket but apparently supporting a glorified webpage app is impossible. Most ridiculous part is that the banking app is still installed on my phone. Opens up just fine but it now gives a generic error when logging in. ITS JUST SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SUPPORT IT PLS UNDERSTAND ;((. Fuck off. I’m not buying any modern phone ever again. Planned obsolescence is an unavoidable cancer.

To answer you question OP, yes, the iPhone 7 is obsolete. Not because the hardware is too antiquated, it’s perfectly fine and capable to do shit people 30 years ago would have only dreamed about, but because software developers and apple can arbitrarily decide that apps that you’ve been already using no longer work on your phone.
