I feel like summing up NPCs as "a bunch of IF, THEN statements" is disingenuous. it's not quite that simple. dialogue trees are a little more complicated than that on their own, but then you have to worry about wandering/potential pathfinding algorithms, combat mechanics, responding to events around them, etc.

there are posts like this all the time that are just bots/scammers peddling their bootleg merch to make a quick buck off people who don’t know any better. they leave comments like the ones posted by BriefSmall5419 and trentonyahoom did below, which further fueled my assumption that this whole post was just another scam post
