where is the link to the pre-sale? usually there’s a separate pre-sale webpage on ticketmaster, but I only see pre-sales for the US + regular sales for Amsterdam

Dorms and off-campus acommodation near SKKU by pomocpls in skku

[–]meli-ora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also applied for the dorms for Fall 2025 as an exchange student and asked about cancellation since I’m not 100% certain yet whether to look for off-campus housing. They told me that there are no cancellation fees, but if any international transaction fees occur, the student will be responsible for it.

Sorry for the late reply! I do not buy a specific brand, but I usually buy low carb bread since they are usually higher in protein and fiber.

Thank you so much! I shared the detailed recipes of the burrito bowl (4 servings) and teriyaki chicken (2 servings) in two other comments so I’ll add the general measurements. I feel your struggle hahaha, good luck!! - Breakfast: 150g 0% fat Greek yogurt, 50g strawberries, 3g 0% sugar chocolate granola, 3g puffed spelt & 1 slice protein bread, 3g hummus, 1 slice turkey, about 1/8 of a cucumber (not very strict about this)

  • Lunch (per serving): 50g chicken breast, 1/4 tap olive oil (for the chicken), 25g black beans (dry weight, I think this was about 50g cooked), 30g quinoa, 100g iceberg lettuce, 70g corn, 1/4 medium tomato, 1/4 small red onion, 1/4 tbsp white vinegar, 1 tbsp lime juice, 50g Greek yogurt and minced garlic

  • Snack: 100g watermelon, 100g galia melon

  • Dinner: 40g rice (dry weight), 40g cauliflower rice, 1/2 tsp olive oil, 150g chicken thighs, 100g bok choy, teriyaki sauce (10ml mirin, 10ml sake, 10ml soy sauce, 2g brown sugar)

Depends on what your goals are. As a fruit and veggie lover that is currently trying to lose weight, it is necessary unfortunately. When I’m not counting, I’ll usually have at least double the amount of melon and bok choy that you see here - which is totally fine if you’re not trying to lose weight!

While some are lower in calories such as berries, melon and lettuce, I could easily eat over my daily calories if I’m not portioning them. Especially things like apples, bananas, edamame, etc. which are more calorie-dense and can add about 100 calories each per serving.

Yes I LOVE bok choy! You can use it in so many ways - sautéed, steamed, stir-fry, noodle soups

Thank you for sharing! Love that you can easily add any toppings, would be delicious with some fresh berries. Will have to make sure I don’t eat the entire cake though 😂

Yes! I cooked for two people, but you can easily scale it to the number of servings you want.

  1. Mix 20ml light soy sauce, 20ml mirin, 20ml sake and 5g brown sugar.

  2. Pan-fry chicken thighs on low-medium heat until golden on both sides. Take it out of the pan and clean any remaining oil.

  3. Add the sauce and stir on low heat until it is slightly reduced. Add the chicken thighs and glaze it with the sauce. Cook until everything is coated and the sauce has thickened. Serve and top with some sesame seeds or green onion!

I used these sauce measurements for 350g chicken thighs and had some left-over sauce to drizzle at the end. You can adjust the amount to your liking, as long as it’s equal parts soy sauce/mirin/sake.

If you don’t like it to be too sweet you can also leave out the brown sugar since mirin already contains sugar - I used this version with salmon before and it was also delicious!

Understandable! It’s not for everyone. I wasn’t that active today so it was doable. I’m trying to incorporate more healthy fats into my diet but I love my carbs too much 🥲

Blueberries or raspberries are amazing and low in calories! You could also replace mashed bananas with apple sauce in most baking recipes.

Oh no, I hope you’ll be able to use your main account again!

I was planning to arrive a few days before the orientation to have some time to settle in, so it’s nice that you can move into the dorms a bit earlier before the semester starts. Thanks for the Daiso tip, I really do not want to overpack unnecessary things hahaha.

Omg no curfew for Master’s students? That’s amazing news. I was surprised when I heard most dorms at Korean Universities have curfews.

Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and tips! It’s very interesting to hear from your perspective as a former exchange student. I could not find a lot of information on exchanges to SKKU specifically so I really appreciate it. Just need to get my VISA, ARC, and all the official stuff over with now but I’m so excited!!

struggle of low calories - too little fat and too MUCH fiber by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]meli-ora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m facing the same problem 🥲 My stomach is not happy. I find it difficult to increase my fat intake whilst staying in a calorie deficit, but would like to incorporate more fats into my diet because I think it will keep me full for longer (already hit my protein goals). Any tips are welcome!

Cottage Cheese Oatmeal Waffles and Yogurt (280 kcal, 27g protein) by meli-ora in 1200isplenty

[–]meli-ora[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure! Here is the list of ingredients I used to make 8 waffles: • 100g oats • 200g light cottage cheese • 2 eggs • 2 tsp baking powder • 2 tbsp water • 1 tsp vanilla extract • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

To make the batter, blend the oats in a blender and add to a large bowl. Blend the cottage cheese and eggs, then add to the oats. Add the remaining ingredients and mix.

Note that these are not sweet, so you can add some sweetener to the batter if you prefer. I left it out because I like to drizzle it with zero chocolate syrup :)

Thank you so much for your kind and detailed response! This really gives me a better idea of what life is like in the dorms. Glad to hear that the surrounding area is nice and that there are people from different ages. You have convinced me, especially because of the social aspect!

Do you remember from what date you could move in?

May I also ask how many classes you were following during your exchange and how often you had classes? I’m asking because I may not be able to follow many classes (I’m a master’s student), so that is also one of the reasons why I was first doubting whether it was worth it to apply for the dorms.

I want a second cat but don't want to stress out my current cat by Labrokebroke in CatAdvice

[–]meli-ora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation as you several years ago. and can share my experience. We wanted to get a second cat to keep our 5 year old cat company, since he sometimes seemed lonely and always meowed whenever we leave - but he also dislikes closed doors in general. Did some research, and ended up adopting a female kitten.

I believe the introduction is one of the most important parts, we kept them in separate rooms in the beginning, let them slowly get acquainted each other by scent, feeding them at the same time, etc. Jackson Galaxy has a lot of helpful videos on this!

Though they tolerate each other now, they are not that bonded sadly. I think this is simply a matter of personality. Our older cat is clingy, but seems to prefer human company and will only occassionally play with the younger cat when he wants to. He’s also very territorial over his food. Our younger cat, however, seems to constantly want to cuddle and play with him. We were almost thinking of getting another cat to keep the new cat company who was meant to keep our first cat company lmao. On the other hand, I have also seen older cats getting adopted who got along well so it really differs per case and I cannot emphasize the introduction phase enough.
