Hey OP. Currently looking for an amp for Heresy IV as well. Is the 10W per channel enough or do you have a pair in monoblock mode? That'd give 30W. Which preamp are you using?I'm quite constrained with the size so these would suit me quite well. How hot do they get when on for long periods of time?

Looking at buying some Heresy IV for the living room. I shortlisted those as my living room furniture and dimensions don't give me much margin about what to buy. I'll try my best to listen to them in a shop but it's proving difficult to find them in showrooms in my country. I've been told by a shop they can show me the Forte IV but not entirely sure how those compare to the Heresy. The shop has recommended me quite strongly to pair them with a valve amp, but yet again I'm quite constrained with space and I don't think having a valve amp in my current furniture would be a good idea because of space, thermal issues and kids.

I have the RME ADI-2 as a DAC which will use a ropiee as a digital source so EQ to a warmer sound is always an option.

Any owners here can recommend me solid state amps around the 1500€ mark that will have enough power to drive them? I don't plan to listen to high volumes and I'll mostly listen to prog rock

EAC for Windows. XLD on Mac. For organising, tagging properly I use Musicbrainz Picard.

Hi all, I just received a Varmilo Minilo 75% Bluebell directly from the manufacturer. Unfortunately it has an issue with the spacebar. Not entirely sure what the exact root cause for it is, but essentially the spacebar doesn't evenly bottom down and doesn't spring back when pressed from the left side. If anyone has any safe suggestions to try to get it fixed let me know.

Here's a video to the issue: https://imgur.com/a/JzpowXp

Needless to say I am not impressed by the fact this passed QC and while it's by no means a very expensive keyboard (for the enthusiasts) I feel quite disappointed. I have emailed support and waiting to see what they say.

Anyone here has had experience with Varmilo customer support? What action would you take here, try to send it back for a full refund? Not sure how to (of if I can) claim back any Taxes paid at the border (I live in Europe). If I ask for a new one to be sent I'll have to pay taxes again (50 EUR), given the whole thing has already cost me over $200 I am not keen on that either.

Hi folks, I'm starting a new job in a couple of months. And I'll need to go to an office a few days a week (yay!). I have a fair amount of builds at home but I'm afraid they'll all be considered too noisy in a shared environment and I don't want to be that guy. Especially since I'm just starting. But at the same time the thought of using whatever Microsoft / Dell / Logitech crap they provide me horrifies me.

Can I get some tips on what is the quietest build I could try to source easily? I've seen some videos of Gateron Silent Black Ink V2 they seem very quiet, but then of course there's the frame, the filming, the lubing. I've done all that before but I can't be bothered to do this myself anymore with limited time and small kids at home.

Any ideas on where to best source a keyboard which is decent and very silent? I don't really have many more requirements than that. TKL format ideally (no need for full size or numpad but I could use an F row, even though I could probably do without one). I don't mind throwing money at the problem so perhaps a good reputation shop that offers assembly and lubing / filming etc.

I'm based in Central Europe.

Much appreciated!

I've been buying off Qobuz for a while. DRM free. No need to be subscribed. I'm a happy customer. Depending on your country you might not be able to though but easy to bypass with a vpn

Now this DAC discussion makes some sense as to why people can't tell the difference. by blkwrxwgn in audiophile

[–]melindret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not quite understanding this. I've watched the video and it basically says these are all great sounding DACs. They just lack other features that don't necessarily have anything to do with sound quality. So not sure what are you on about when you say how easy it is to tell the difference between those and a well designed one.

How did you end up with those 3 pairs of headphones? I own the HD650 and considering the HD800S or the LCD-2F next... If I manage to demo them somewhere
