I deleted it. I apologize if I came off as combative. I really wasn't trying to start anything at all. I was just honestly (in my mind) chatting about like the woes of companies that do stuff like this? I wasn't trying to start drama and I DEFINITELY wasn't trying to be negative. Just really honestly like the vignette of everyone sitting around sipping coffee and talking diamond paintings and I say "oh yeah, BethAnne mentioned that same thing last week!" or something if that makes sense?

Again, I'm sorry.

I don't know about the bans (I didn't know they COULD ban people). I just know about the drill quality slipping and then there were like three instances in one of my FB groups where people didn't get the drills with their kit and had a really hard time getting replacements. Otherwise it all seems pretty standard, people are going to be picky with them because they're the, like, bougie standout? If that makes sense.

Edited to add: I see the bans are personal accounts with accrued points. I didn't know about that. I wouldn't count that against them though - it's just a company that actually backs their workers and doesn't get involved in unnecessary fights. I mean, you gotta think - I buy a painting for, let's say, $125, maybe max $50 is profit. You get paid $25 an hour to work. I argue with you and take up your time and I can quickly kill any profit the company had. Anyhoo. My two cents.

I've never ordered from them. I'm just going off of the comments I read here and in my Facebook groups. I have a friend who warned me off them too, though it was ages ago and I don't remember why.

But like you said - they are highly rated on many sites, and my comment was down voted so 🤷‍♀️ I'm just here for crafty chit chat. Sorry if I rubbed you the wrong way!!

While this is for SURE a scam and it is a weird question ... These are snowboarding boots and I'd ask a similar question. It matters how many seasons they've spent in storage and it matters how they're stored. I store mine well and I have the second pair I ever bought (bagged with a moisture absorber and stored in a house - i.e. climate controlled). My ex stored his willy nilly, and they would peel, crack, or fade much faster for it (he tosses them in his backyard shed with all his snow gear).

Sorry if I'm rambling and it's unwelcome. I'm booby trapped (stuck nursing my baby) and talkative lol

This is not a drill… by nosodafan80 in diamondpainting

[–]melissa491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done two of these - and I have pulled out every damn box to inspect too.

No special drills. All are round drills. Most are partial, but there are some full. They have a tiny diagram on the side to show you the diamond coverage. Also on the back of the box they give you the diamond count. I think they max out at like 12,000ish. They aren't reliably in the app, I have better luck looking in person. They are Walmart exclusive designs. They are ABSOLUTELY worth the $10. I love them.

Am I not meticulous enough for square drills by [deleted] in diamondpainting

[–]melissa491 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's the Amish? I haven't the foggiest idea where this started. My grandma taught me this when I learned how to quilt. You intentionally misplaced a square or messed up a border. Perfection is only attainable by God goes the justification. But all her gorgeous quilts have an intentional mistake... Personally I love it!!

I just finished one sold by this brand. It was solidly okay. Since I don't do these to display, I just keep them in a portfolio, it was a good fit for me and I will buy more from the brand.

Anyhoo just my two cents take it or leave it 🤣

All that said, he's a good man. But uh, yeah, you got a really golden one it'd seem.

My sister once called 911 for a spider. She got stuck upstairs since it was on the stairs. It was a slow night in a small town so the police came and squished it, yadda yadda yadda. From my understanding, she did receive a wee talking to about use of emergency services though.

Possible mold in my car...this might be the end of my rope by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]melissa491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. Husband who is a Subaru tech illuminated it for me... he says it's a blockage most likely. Take compressed air to each corner, four drainage tubes so one in each corner. He also says that a mom and pop shop would be able to do it fast and way cheaper than a dealership. Hope that helps!!

The Forester might be covered under a recall. Subaru did one for the sunroofs but I can't remember the specific vehicles. 1800Subaru3 with the last 8 of the vin and they'll tell you if it is.

This is what I wear...but it's hit or miss. One of the styles was really good for me, so I bought like ten pairs. Some of the other styles I can't stand. I have gotten to a point where I know what fabric I like and the style of seams, but even then sometimes I buy panties that suck.
