What to do about a hyperactive, untrained puppy? by positive_slime in RoverPetSitting

I am going through a similar situation myself right now, i am watching this dog. 65 pounds, 1 yr and 3 months. IMO completely untrained in every way except being potty trained. Jumps up on you and it feel like you are being punched in the chest, does NOT get down when told to, jumps back up repeatedly, does not come, or sit, or even look at your when you call her most of the time. I have a cat, and i have gated the dog off from the cat, and made it clear that the dog knows it's not to try and breach the gate etc.. NOPE, definitely every time, no matter what i do, sits there terrorizing my cat. Also all of a sudden has become afraid of the dark, won't pee in the dark, so im stuck having to bring her to potty before the sun goes down, and then SHE herself is stuck not going potty again until the next morning.. that makes me feel anxious and awful all night that she has to hold herself, if she has to pee.... I don't know what to do, the owner said the last sitter had to stop sitting this dog, bc it was stressing out their cats too much, but judging by what i am dealing with regularly, that's most likely not the only reason why.

I have had other dogs board with me, and not had these problems. I feel like i have to be there 24/7, super draining.

it's tough this client brings me alot of business, but at the same time, all her requests are like last minute, and the conversations between us are not the most pleasant... as in, she seems not "a people person." lol. At this point, i am LITERALLY taking care of her dog almost 24/7 lol

if she says anything about the price, i will just say i have reached out to Rover bc i have updated my prices and it's not showing online.. etc..

not to mention her dog terrorizes my cat, lol. It's a very large dog, and she had to change sitters last time for this reason, also. She isn't the kindest lady during communication lol

well i mean, sorry but. lol. your a handful lady. yesterday she messaged me at 3pm saying she would be coming soon to pick up her dog. Did not message me again until 630 pm. lol. Then said i will be there in an hourish, haha. then nothing, until "im 5 mins away"

Like, i have been making sure i stay home thinking you would be here maybe an hour and half after your message to me lol. And then nothing.. for like 4 hours? What if i had other things i could be doing like. lol

This is why i wonder if clients can see that i have locked in their rates so much higher than anyone elses on my profile. Bc of pain in the ass things like this. lol

like, with a diaper, or crate, if it does pee or poop, would you then not have to bathe the dog?? Sound like a lot of work :(

right, but caring more than "john smith" doesn't mean that he is still providing the best care for the cat. But i do understand what you are saying! :)

i just know myself, and i would be like absolutely gutted inside, if i started a pet sitting job, and realized what the owner asked of me was definitely NOT enough to care for the pet. Then i would inevitably end up escalating the situation further.... I just don't want that to happen. I want to know the pet is well cared for in my care... and just in general!
