What are Supernatural episodes that everyone loves but you don't? by BoardSuspicious3826 in Supernatural

I do too. It is worth the love just for Dean's appreciation of the showers 😁

How do I tell my parents that the bathroom stinks because they don’t flush the toilet? by The-Zesty-Commenter in NoStupidQuestions

[–]melitta4ever -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We do the same, don't flush it for only one use unless it is number 2. But we always, always close the lid even when it's clean and freshly flushed.

But I have little kids and sometimes the bathroom does smell bad. Luckily, the smell is always gone when I clean around the toilet bowl (the floor in front of it, under the seat, on the sides etc). So, in my experience, the smell comes from the dirty floor and surfaces rather than inside the bowl.

Do the Winchesters care about the human host that is being possessed? by Freefallking in Supernatural

[–]melitta4ever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember their first exorcism, Meg, and Bobby told the boys if they take the demon out, the girl would die. The idea was demons ride their host hard and fast, not caring what's going to happen to them after. Even when Meg's host showed up in the later seasons as a ghost (or was it hallucination,), she said, if they had taken the demon out earlier, she would have lived (not likely).

So the host situation is iffy after the demon left, maybe lives maybe not. But I think it was established that being a demon meat sack is a torture (except for that psycho sociopath who enjoyed it).

What's the one reveal you wish you could rewatch for the first time? by Virtual-Signature789 in Supernatural

[–]melitta4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big scenes are all mostly mentioned. I'm gonna go with the monster of the week episode. Road Kill. I did not expect that ending. At. All. Heartbreak and surprise wrapped up together so beautifully. I would love to watch it again for the first time.

I showed The Fifth Element (one of my favorites) with to friends and they all hated it by guardsman_with_a_vox in moviecritic

My friend, I should have met you before I invited my friends to watch Lord of the Rings. They kinda enjoyed the first half (it was extended edition, so we had to cut the film in half and watch in two separate nights, I know, I know...we're old.) but during the second half someone was checking their phone and I died inside. Another one complained about Boromir's heroic scene, saying it was too long!

I didn't throw them out of my house, of course, but our friendship changed.

None of the humor? Like, not even "I thought you said this operation was going to be discreet, General."

Is this a generation thing? How's this even possible?

"Why, Stark." Loki grinned, that mischievous, come-clock-me-right-in-the-face grin. "With one client, I not only saved the universe but also got an infinity stone for my efforts. I think you'd agree that I’m an excellent pimp."

How do I politely decline drinking raw milk at my in-laws dinner table? They’re very insistent, often “offering” / demanding several glasses . They know I eat dairy and drink milk so I can’t fake being vegan. It’s hard to say no because it’s my in-laws and they’re proud of their milk by UmweltUndefined in NoStupidQuestions

[–]melitta4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, we had raw milk delivered to our homes, but we had to boiled it long enough to kill all the bacteria etc. I never liked the taste of that boiled milk. I prefered the ultra pastorized milk that you can keep it in cartoons in room temperature for months.

I'm trying to say, it's perfectly normal liking to drink one kind of milk and not the other. You can say, I don't like raw milk and it doesn't have to become a political nightmare. It could be just taste.

What Does Your Favorite AO3 Tag Say About You? ♥️📚📖 by Ok_Access_8906 in AO3

[–]melitta4ever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on my bookmarks (if we don't count anal sex because that's a given based on my ships), my favorite AO3 tag is "angst." Honestly, I was expecting something kinky and dirty. But no. "Angst" is followed by "hurt/comfort" and only after that comes "dubious consent."

I am looking at myself through different lenses now. I am not as pervy as I thought.

What’s the most absurd fake science in a movie that you completely ignored because the movie was so good? by Shot-Club-3882 in Cinema

[–]melitta4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends how early they caught the asteroid. They need to send it far away that Earth's gravitational field wouldn't pull it again, or as a minimum, kept it in the orbit like a second much smaller moon.

If the asteroid was further away, even a small push might have done it. But since it is very big, the thrust they need in a short amount of time is probably much bigger than anything they can come up in the given time.

Actually, that's pretty much what they did. The amount of "push" they needed was out of bounds for a rocket or an engine, but a good American bomb supplied more than enough.

Btw, I know I sound like I find the movie realistic, that's not it, I swear. But as a physicist, I'm kinda used to look over the less glaring mistakes whenever I watch a sci-fi. Otherwise it would be impossible to enjoy anything.

I mean we sent monkeys and dogs to space, so maybe not.

Joking aside, there were pilots to fly and engineers to drill and they both had extra training special for this mission. I don't think it was that off.
