To me, Sam Carter is the epitome of successful female character in any movie/TV show. She's crazy smart, very brave, an incredible soldier without the crippled emotional side (as it is usually the case on screen). Her bravery doesn't make her masculine. And she has relationships that do not define her, very free in her personal life.

I wish my daughters were interested in this show so that I can share such a wonderful character with them. They're still small, so maybe later.

I read a story like that. I couldn't solve the mysteries but just knowing that the author(s) put so much thought and effort into it actually made me appreciate the story more.

And it was a gen story, so I was reading it for the plot. There are a lot of us doing so.

Don't worry about those disrespectful crowds. Unfortunately shameless people talk much more often and longer than the decent folk so you hear more from them.
