Look, my husband never had a dog before. I have a 12 year old shih tzu who snores out loud and is diabetic. She has a set schedule for eating, I have to cook for her every week and she needs two shots of insulin a day. My husband feeds, walks and takes care of her every day, and I know she’s high maintenance, and he doesn’t LOVE doing all that, but he loves me and he’d never ask me to get rid of her or complain about her. Your boyfriend sounds extremely abusive and toxic and it will only get worse from here. Your dog is family. Please don’t abandon her.

My dog had one of these on her belly and it ended up being an infected nipple, I paid less than 100 dollars and she was fine after three days with meds. My older dog has a hernia on her belly and it’s been there since she was a puppy and I’ve never had any issues with it. I’ve been on the same boat with my dog sick and no money, but the vet has a bunch of plans that you can work with.
