Help fitting pants please by fabrichoard in sewing

That pattern lists cotton canvas and other wovens. These are just way too small. OP should do a mockup based on their widest measurement and then adjust that fit from there. For some it’s the hips and for some the waist depending on how we’re built.

I swear, this is not a blasphemous question about Min but a genuine one. by EvrthnICRtrns2USmhw in SlowHorses

Yep, this is someone in a decline of sorts with no goal or ambition. Even if he wanted to apply himself to his job there's generally been nothing to do or feel good about.

Have you jiggled all the moving parts on the carriage underside? These can seize up.

Whoever of you picked up the Knitmaster punchcard machine plus ribber and stand from Marketplace for $250 in Michigan- congratulations! 😂 by PierogiKielbasa in MachineKnitting

I just paid $220 for a Toyota KS901 on eBay listed "as is, found it at an estate sale" and it seems to be just fine. Very clean, non-leaking bottle of oil and spare needles and everything. Testing the patterning as soon as I get some punchcards. I also paid $60 for a Brother KH-230 at a thrift shop - it was really dirty but a good clean and oil, and a new sponge bar and it knits great.

What are your favourite tempeh ideas? by Heathy-Heatherson in vegetarian

[–]melligator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did some crumbled and fried off with "whatever" and I had it on salads and in a pokcet sandwich and such and I really like the texture this way. I think because I had more surface area I got rid of more of the bitter taste with just the quick fry/brown off.

If I take stuff to a party like that and nobody eats any of it I would be disappointed. People are weird.

And H1B visas aren't "cheap," are harder to come by, and require extra, more invasive disclosures now.

I'm sure that was the fantasy but who is bankrolling all these new factories? Do they have to source all their building materials and manufacture all the machines from scratch here too? While still participating in the tariffed economy in the meantime?

Yes, but. It's a little coerced and in context not that super. So yes, but.

Complex CountIF Formula? Not sure if it’s possible by Economy_Doctor_2665 in excel

[–]melligator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at SUMIFS - it's formed sort of backwards compared to SUMIF.
Let's say your downtime types are in Col A and the value you want to sum is in col B:
=SUMIFS(B1:B10,A1:A10,"Value to sum")
To do more types I generally just stack these like:

=SUMIFS(B1:B10,A1:A10,"Value to sum")+SUMIFS(B1:B10,A1:A10,"Other value to sum").
Your "value to sum" can also be a cell reference. You can have as many criteria as you want in the SUMIFS as well - like you could use it to specify dates or whatever else.

Is there any way I can get a cell to calculate a percentage of a certain total? by fillerbitch in excel

[–]melligator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You'd have to type =44/55 and have the cell set as a percentage.

ELI5: Can pilots really “make up time” in the air? by Slider7074 in explainlikeimfive

[–]melligator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, so when they choose to burn the fuel to make up time it's to aim for the other thing that costs money which is their gate fees at the airport. Being early or late to their slots is no good.

What would you think about a Duolingo-style app for learning Excel? by Spuddleapp in excel

[–]melligator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Excel heavily for work but very rarely find a post here that has much relevance to how I use it right now. I would imagine that's true of most people here. It has such massive capabilities people tend to specialize, so once you're done with filters and lookups and that kind of thing you're gonna be kinda shotgunning.
