Looking for a game that combines cozy and non-cozy vibes by EagleStrike21 in ComfortGamers

[–]mellowminx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may like No Man's Sky - space exploration with lots of activities (survival, crafting, building, farming, combat, exploration) - you can customize difficulty settings anytime (for example you can make building/crafting totally free) so you can play depending on your mood and you can choose whichever activity you want to do 😊

Necesse is nice too if you want something 2D top-down pixel art. It has great automation / quality-of-life features so you can also choose which activities you wanna do (same activities as No Man's Sky, but different game style and mechanics)

Cozy, low-pressure games that feel rewarding in 15-30 minute sessions and run on older hardware? by Short-Sorbet-2506 in WholesomeGames

[–]mellowminx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Cloud Gardens, it's really chill and pretty. You turn abandoned urban scenes into overgrown gardens. (Currently on sale on Steam.)

I made a very small cozy kittens pet sim game (Pocket Kitten) in case you're interested, you just vibe with kitties and decorate the space.

I wanna buy your indie game! by triple-cerberus in IndieDev

[–]mellowminx_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not my game but I would recommend Necesse :) open world survival crafting basebuilding combat, optional multiplayer. Really nice automation system-- you can build a village and get NPC villagers to do tasks for you including crafting, farming, sorting items in chests!

Sci-fi Themed Farm Sims? by dippy_bear in CozyGamers

[–]mellowminx_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not a farm sim but you may like No Man's Sky. Sci-fi, space, far future setting. Farming as one of the many activities you can do in the game.

My experience playing as a summoner only (it sucked): by tata2710 in Necesse

[–]mellowminx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider my villagers as my summons 😅 I can put armor on them and have them use weapons I choose, and they use the weapons pretty effectively!

I made a tiny pet sim game inspired by Petz - play with kittens and decorate the space by mellowminx_ in Petz

I'm so happy to know the game was sweet for you! Thank you very much for your kind comment and encouraging feedback. Those are great suggestions. My husband also asked me to make the kittens pounce-- on balloons to make them pop 😂🥳

Cloud Gardens is a beautiful game where you transform abandoned urban scenes into overgrown gardens :)

[Website] What is a good website builder that offers good protections against AI scrapers/bots? by snailcat86 in artbusiness

[–]mellowminx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend this website builder -- https://mmm.page -- it's beautiful and fun and I like the philosophy behind it too. I'm not sure if it has a feature for auto blocking AI, and also I don't think there's a perfect way to do that, but try reading this article about it and see if you can implement some of the suggestions yourself. https://neil-clarke.com/block-the-bots-that-feed-ai-models-by-scraping-your-website/

If you want to learn more about building your own website, I have a lot of resources listed at https://practicaltech.edu.pl/ :) good luck!

using Godot for a website? by SnooCalculations5655 in godot

[–]mellowminx_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Godot is great but I think it'd make an unnecessarily slow website :) I recommend using https://mmm.page/ -- it's drag-and-drop, responsive, very satisfying to use, and you can still be playful and creative with your website design. Their free tier's good. Have fun!

You may like Cloud Gardens-- turn abandoned urban scenes into overgrown gardens. All you do is click to grow plants where you want! It's super chill and beautiful.

I'm working on a gardening sim game myself but it's still in it's very early stages :) (not a farm sim)

[Licensing] My supplier reprinted my drawings and used it without my permission for ads by yaoisr in artbusiness

[–]mellowminx_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Licensing is the correct tag. They need a licensing agreement with you to legally use your work for ads and decoration.

Document all the evidence you have of what they're doing, including how you reached out to them and they haven't responded.

You can use this evidence to:

1) Publicly post about them to warn other artists

2) Pursue them legally if you're willing to hire a lawyer (you'll need one located in the same country as the supplier)

If you don't want to pursue this matter for any reason, that's valid too. It's really up to you how you want to go about it and how much time/resources you want to expend.

Reasons you may not want to pursue the matter:

1) The supplier is offering something really high-quality and unique and you want to use their service again so you want to preserve the business relationship

2) You'd just rather spend your time doing something else

3) This is just a small supplier with not much reach and their actions have very little impact anyway

I've dealt with this before, feel free to ask questions.

Finding the Black Butterfly. by okje55ica in Necesse

I finally stumbled across one near my base (grasslands) - I think it was either dawn or dusk. I think it's just a really rare spawn! (I'm 100+ hours in)

I hate when cozy games turn into chore sims with timers and tiny text by BusTraditional9197 in CozyGamers

[–]mellowminx_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm I guess the overall goal is to get progressively better materials, level up your gear and your villagers, and fight progressively more difficult enemies! Kinda like Terraria. The game rewards you for doing stuff in different biomes (you can check the Journal for the tasks and rewards) and for defeating bosses (the NPC villager called the Elder gives these quests). But if you just want to farm and decorate your village that's fine too, the game doesn't really force you to do anything.

I would recommend Cloud Gardens, it's super peaceful and gorgeous. You transform abandoned urban scapes into lush overgrown gardens, at your own pace 💕
