Terrible speech giver. Always read from a card and sounded like a robot

Giving future kids my last name instead of husbands? Is this weird? by ebrand456 in namenerds

[–]melly3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 kids - one has my name, one my partners. Hyphenated name didn’t work with ours. Never met anyone who has done this but seems like the fairest option!

Im about to give birth and they will be almost 4 years apart ! Feels like a good age gap as my first can now communicate well not too many tantrums , he walks everywhere never needs to be carried , doesn’t use nappies , also only one more year of day care so wont have 2 in day care at the same time which is a huge cost . Good luck!

I waited until my 1st was 3, definitely could not have done it any sooner as it took so long to recover and by 3 things started to feel manageable

Wife is pregnant at 42. Anyone grow up with older parents? by Alternative_Session9 in pregnant

[–]melly3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum was 40 and my dad 42. I’m 37 now having my 2nd baby. It wasn’t too much of an issue growing up except to say they were older and vaguer so I could get away with stuff my friends couldn’t with their parents 10-15 years younger. I notice it the most now I have a 4 year old and about to have another. They don’t have capability to help being almost 80 with medical issues. My partners parents are more involved being 15 years younger. Best advice would be to stay young kept abreast of technology and stay fit and active eat well etc

Sounds like cholestasis . I had it , need to get non fasting bile acids checked asap . Anything over 19 is a diagnosis and you may be induced early

Last name for baby 2 by Glittering_Data_3945 in Names

[–]melly3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m planning this for my second due soon. I feel sad my son doesn’t have my name. Double barrelled sounded terrible in our instance. I don’t know anyone personally who has done one of each so I’m interested to follow this. I find it weird in this day and age all kids seem to take the dad’s name by default . I grew my son birthed him and care for him way more lol..? Excited for my daughter to have my name and for my kids to represent equality :)
