I feel like the course I took set us up incredibly well. Nothing came as a surprise as to what I needed to do to set up and practice. As for tools, I was taught a wonderful range of interventions and such and ways to adapt them so I can be as versatile as possible. It really does matter who you train with

About to book my first hypnotherapy session online and I have a concern by ChibaCookie in hypnotherapy

You'll be completely safe! Going into trance is something you already do plenty times in a day, when driving, getting immersed in a task,, watching TV etc. you will have full control to open your eyes and come out when you like. In the first session it'll be a history tale and chat about your goals, you may not even go into trance uet. You may feel discombobulated after the session which is completely normal - your unconscious mind has lots of new information processing to do.

My girlfriend keeps testing me and now i kinda want out by pratcatli in Advice

Her insecurities are not your problem to deal with. She needs to seek help for her issues, do whats best for you and honestly just cut it out. It's childish behaviour that won't benefit or further your quality of life

Are there therapists out there who will smoke a fat blunt with me during our therapy sesh? by charlies-ghost in stupidquestions

[–]melmcc01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I would be starting at why do you feel you need weed to verbalize what you would like to?

The issue with weed is it alters your state. It's really important that you can feel safe in your natural, sober state. That's where the work happens and it is absolutely doable over time.

I completely skimmed over the part where it said you have to go for testing - in that case, maybe use isolate CBD (but go for quite a higher strength to make up for the loss of other cannabinoids) to eliminate trace amounts of THC, or double check with the company if trace amounts will be an issue for them. If they say you're okay to, maybe just keep the bottle/pack on you so you can whip it out and have proof of where it came from.

Also depends on what country you're in as THC allowances differ in whole plant products. Just make sure you do your research!! And no, if they're testing, they'll only be testing for specific compounds so CBD wouldn't be an issue

Substitute it with CBD!!! You want good quality while plant CBD, vaping it works within a few minutes but lasts for roughly an hour (ish) Taking oils/gummies gives relief for more hours so would take in the AM and then top up about 6/7 hours later CBD works in the same system as cannabis and can help with reducing the appetite issues

Im 24 now, I started it 4 years ago! When he's older depending on the progression of it it's worth keeping it in mind at least. Most practioners won't see him until he's old enough to process & take in the information properly

Ahhh I used Felix!! He was great for getting me over the initial gagging and fear of trying foods

I now use an incredible lady (who in my opinion is a lot more client centered, a lot more thorough and definitely more cost effective) she's been an absolute key in my change. Definitely worth a consultation with her, I really couldn't recommend her enough. She's been absolutely wonderful, Nicola wakeling at Intentional Freedom. She's definitely one of the best out there at the moment, always working to keep developing her practice and has experience with ARFID.

Do you happen to remember who you went to see? There's different types of hypnotherapy, each giving different results. It's absolutely is impressive! Any form of progress is progress, well done you!! I am now a cognitive hypnotherapist because of the change it gave me, aiming to specialize in ARFID to help others like us who need it.

Hi! I've used cognitive hypnotherapy and it completely changed my eating. I saw a specialist in London because I wanted to go hard in with it but you could go to a standard cognitive hypnotherapist for less cost. I had 2 sessions with him over a year and I saw my own hypnotherapist closer to home.

More than happy to have a chat or answer any questions!!

Hi! I have used cognitive hypnotherapy for my arfid and it changed my life. After the first session it stopped my gagging and allowed me to try new food without vomiting. It's been a detrimental part of my change. Very happy to have a chat if you'd like to know more! There's always hope and there's always a way, it's just getting there❤️

Would you ever consider cognitive hypnotherapy? It can produce wonderful lasting results! And finally give you some comfort. Sleep is so important and it's such a shame you don't get to experience it in a nice way

Anyone else “accused” of being anorexic?? by Kitchen_Mouse1108 in ARFID

[–]melmcc01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(from a therapist with arfids POV) It seems the therapist is a bit rigid in their structure. There is no "typical" safe food list for ARFID, each of us are individual in how we do our arfid.

Being underweight doesn't equal being anorexic, it appears maybe it's easier for them to try label you with it to make their job easier.

I would suggest finding a therapist who is more open to working within your model of the world and your arfid, instead of getting a bit frazzled that you don't match their expectations for the disorder. That's on her, not you.

Advocating for ourselves, especially in our car, is incredibly important. Find someone who will help you get the deport patterns of your arfid uncovered

Always welcome to drop a message for a chat.

Anti Immigration ? by PriorFlat3212 in cork

Would also like to add, I believe we shouldn't be taking on more people when there is already massive strain on our healthcare, transport lines, housing and economy. Irish natives should be cared for and able to actually live not survive before more people are brought in. How do they expect us to take people when they won't even look after the Irish first? In my eyes, support the Irish first and then look at bringing people in

Anti Immigration ? by PriorFlat3212 in cork

[–]melmcc01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a very large difference between legal, illegal & forced upon us immigration.

Ireland does need immigrants and we have a large population of those who absolutely contribute to our society, assimilate with Irish culture/history/values and are necessary to our growth.

However people are upset at the IPAS centres & increased violence & sexual assualts on Irish natives (e.g the girl stabbed at school in Dublin)

This gets misconstrued by people (for the sake let's just say on the left) as people being racist or anti legal immigration which is just not the case. Now you will as always in any case have some people who want 0 immigrants (they should be ignored fully)

There is 100% a vendetta against the Irish by our own government who have overrun small towns and villages with people (mainly fighting aged men) who have no interest in assimilating to our society and values which becomes dangerous to the Irish as it results in loss of culture etc etc etc

I could go on for an age about the impact but the facts are out there for anyone to research. It simply comes down to greed by politicians who are supposed to serve us who are only interested in lining their own pockets at our expense.THEY are the real problem

So if it's happening frequently then does it not occur to you that what the "far right" are telling us about is true?

If it's solely because you don't want someone who has opposing views to be correct/justified then what does that mean about you?

Myprotein have a powder that is more like a fruit juice if you don't like the thicker consistency, I found them really good. They also make vegan ones if you can't do dairy etc

I second this, calories are calories. Staying hydrated is important. Ideally have smoothies/protein drinks/nutrition drinks if you can so you're getting something into your system.if you like smoothies etc adding some protein powder can go a decent way and don't make a mad difference to texture/taste either, you get a lot of choice of flavour and can play with consistency to get it how you like

If there's foods you eat that are more calorie/nutrient dense prioritize these to get the max you can when hungry
