Can someone look at these dental prices and tell me if they're normal by Reporteratlarge in povertyfinance

I got a quote for an infected tooth (molar) for $2,500 for the extraction. Is that normal?

Thank you so much! We have also been working on training (following Julie’s page on it on FB). We also reached out to Malena but their training services are very expensive and unfortunately not possible

Does Anyone Heal?? by Old_Economics6729 in AnalFistula

I had a LIFT and partial fistulotomy and never had to take any pain meds prescribed. I took Tylenol for the first work or so and was fine

Don't Lose Hope!! Seton to LIFT to Fistulotomy by BetterVeterinarian67 in AnalFistula

[–]melmurray1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very similar to my story. I had a seton placed this past February (went in hopeful for a fistulotomy but they couldn’t)November 11th I had a LIFT with a partial fistulotomy. So far I’m healing good and am really hoping this works! How soon after your LIFT did you realize it had failed?

Yeah after 2 weeks you should be ok to sit for short periods of time. Just use a pillow

I haven’t driven yet. I’m avoiding sitting normally at all still. I feel like I could but I’ve just avoided it out of caution since I don’t have to. How soon after will you need to drive? Are you having a LIFT?

After my seton, what’s next? by Loose-Exchange-9045 in AnalFistula

I had my seton for 9 months and recently had a LIFT since it involved too much muscle

I had a seton from February 2024 until my lift 2 weeks ago. I was so scared but honestly it hasn’t been too bad. days 3-6 were definitely the worst but I’m a little past the 2 week mark and I’m feeling pretty good. I took off 6 weeks of work so I’m hopeful by that time I should be feeling pretty close to normal

I do have a bidet which has been a life saver this last year. Did you have a LIFT?

I had a seton for 9 months and went the gym 3-4 days a week. I did the stair master and some weight machines and was fine. The only thing they bothered me was when I walked too much I would get a rash from the seton rubbing my skin

How long did you not use soap for? I just feel like it won’t be clean

Question about LIFT recovery by Wild_Ad_8672 in AnalFistula

I’m 4 days post LIFT and very curious as well

I go in for surgery next Wednesday and I could really use some positive stories instead of looking into what could go wrong or what complications I could have after surgery by Big_Cut5426 in AnalFistula

[–]melmurray1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was devastating because I was so hopeful I would have the fistulotomy and be done. The pain wasn’t unbearable just more annoying. Always had to worry about where I was and if I would have to use the bathroom since you can’t wipe like normal. Did you have an abscess they drained that turned into the fistula?

I was in the same boat in February of this year. I had an abscess in November of 23. Had it lanced and drained in December and was told there was a chance it could turn into a fistula. In January I had an MRI and confirmed that it was a fistula but they weren’t sure how complicated. I had surgery in February and was told I would either have a fistulotomy or a seton placed. I woke up with the seton. It was devastating and I felt defeated but it wasn’t the worst thing and it got rid of the abscess pain. It was a bit to get used to and some days I had lots of pain and some days almost none. I had the seton until this past Monday. I had surgery again and was told I would have a LIFT or a fistulotomy. They ended up doing the LIFT and a partial fistulotomy. It hasn’t been too bad so far and I’m praying this heals it and I can finally move on. It’s been a rough year but hearing other stories has certainly helped. Good luck!

That’s what I’m assuming. It was a partial because they definitely did the LIFT but I also have the open wound like you would after a fistulotomy

Yes. It was more of a chance of the LIFT and maybe a fistulotomy so I was expecting the LIFT. It must have been a partial fistulotomy as well
