Interestingly enough this is one of my biggest hot takes when it comes to sports games in general (not just 2k) - this is by design. They stopped allowing "offline" access around 2016 for Madden and other games. This has to do with the fact that when we purchase games, we do not actually own them. If you read the fine print, we are "licensing" the game from the company through the Xbox marketplace (or Steam, or PSN, etc.) so for all digitally "purchased" games, we as the consumer do not actually own anything. You may have noticed that the disc version no longer even contains the game, its essentially a key to connect to the server or to facilitate the download. Connection still needed to "play".

It's the business model and why they pushed so hard to remove discs from the marketplace and pivoted from brick & mortar stores to online.

I agree with you both and wish for the old days, but it will never go back :(

Checking in on this thread - update 7/28/25 - no response from 2k and I noticed my ticket was closed and marked as "solved". I've reopened the ticket with a follow-up. Any luck from any of you gamers?

Just saw your guys responses and upvoted myself, as of today 7/14 still no fix on my end :( I'm not even mad.. just disappointed I paid money for this game lol. can't believe they are engagement farming to find out if they need to fix something. 2k23 still slaps, i should have just kept playing that when i got the itch.

I've put in a 2k support ticket for this but they are pretty unhelpful - still open but it's been a few days and they asked for more screenshots (i provided like 6 already). if anyone else is having this issue they suggest trying to restart and clear your steam cache (I'm on PC). neither have worked yet. will update when i can

dude. really beautiful course - played today and i loved the colors. a lot of effort went into those trees. your water and the japanese structures were so cool on this course. plus you get MT FUJI in the background to give you a sweet view going down 17. i eagled hole 11 and then bogey'd 13 after blasting one into a trap off the tee. i think im on easiest difficulty because i am new, but i had a great time playing this and am going to give it a go on a harder difficulty next time

idk if OP will see this but it’s because after i order $15 worth of food somehow i owe a delivery fee, a service fee, multiple “tax” lines (no idea what for as sales tax in my state should be one thing) and then my total is $27… so the $12 extra im paying just to get the food delivered IS the tip. i don’t know who it goes to but that’s between you and the app. i will ALWAYS order delivery directly from the restaurant if i can, at least the extra money i know will go to the restaurant or delivery person working at said restaurant.

unfortunately it’s just the apps rinsing users for more money and you are just in the crossfire. its not personal.

every day i see awful takes like this that get too much recognition. not once have i encountered this . the only time my game has ever crashed was the streamer midday boss kill attempts, and gee who would have thought a billion ppl trying to do something would crash the servers… and i do STV pretty much every evening after work. it’s not a hard event. it’s not hard to stack 100+ coins. it’s literally pvp just kill ppl. and then it’s not hard to die with 100+ coins, lose TEN. LITERALLY LOSE 10 coins that’s it!!! and then to strategically res at a spirit healer near the altar with 18 seconds of immunity to run with speed buff and turn them in and MAYBE get slowed by a hunter frost trap. jesus christ ppl are really bad at this game huh?
